This thread is a bit quiet this morning......

Last nights win was a great boost Macy but it does not put the issue of the style of play to bed. I enjoyed the game which was played at a great pace and with plenty of commitment by both teams. Longford I believe had the better players but in my opinion Glentoran knocked the ball around better and looked more comfortable on it. I think that the pitch should be extended to the maximum width possible to give our players more room for manouver and enable the pace of Prunty, Barrett and Kirby to be maximised. Alan needs to start believing that his players can play a bit and give them the room to do so.
This is not knocking Alan rather constructive critisism after a most enjoyable victory. :)

i presume you mean his introduction of Lavine and Keegan to go three up front. They seemed to make a big difference alright.Funny how they made the difference against glens both home and away and yet constently left on the bench.

Avril's Gaelic skills are getting better. A nice long ball was sent down the middle of the park last night and out from the crowd of blue jumps avril higher than the shells monster and catches the ball and nearly solo's the ball. If she gets her marching orders there are some small Gaelic clubs around longford looking for full forwards with a good scoring record. Who need to be fit when a man can fly.... blood... -

If thats the case you certainly changed your tune in a few days ;)

Blah, blah, blah, blah. They're left on the bench 'cause they can't SCORE. Keegan=NO league goals last season (in fact only ONE goal). How many did Avril get ?? I suppose if you were manager Sonic, he'd be playing every week??
Actually, nearly Matthews Out that those two are still at the club....

Avril is only good for three things(1.)leppen about on the pitch missing simple chances (did you see the look Barrett gave her when she missed an absolute sitter on Monday he would have her out long age) (2.)Giving the crowd a silly two worded chant (my head) (3.) Chasing you ones around longford. And that it. Its not just one game its how many cup finals and the entire knock out stages. The reality is this competition is worth more to the club at the moment than anything else (financially) and as all have been saying Longford are cup specialists. Top four in league at the moment is as good as it gets at the moment (if we are Lucky). Anyway winning cups is brilliant, scoring goals at last minuets (as we are good at) is brilliant, Alan Matthews is brilliant isn’t football brilliant.........Brilliant.........Brilliant :p :p :p :p

Keegan wouldnt but avril certaintly would be.You guys are going on about lavine not commited to training and all this bulls*it.How the hell would you fools know what goes on.Neway my point is when Lavine goes out there he will work his socks off.I cant believe anyone who knows anything about football fail to see the impact he makes when he comes on.He wins his headers 90% of the time and for a man 5ft 9 or so playing for the biggest hoofers in the league thats very good.Aswell as that he actually gives a damn when he is on the field which is more than can be said for Baker. :ball:
