At the moment theres isnt enough information available for the u-21 league(news or results/fixtures). It would be fantastic to have an individual site. This is somewhat unrealistic as there is too much of a workload. This section of the forum would be ideal if people start using it.

There was a website about 2-3 years ago and to be fair, it was brilliant .... very well done with loads of info.

I dont think it is the way to go though ......

www.irishfootballonline.com (http://www.irishfootballonline.com/)

www.soccercentral.ie (http://www.soccercentral.ie/)

www.a2zsoccer.com (http://www.a2zsoccer.com/)

www.eleven-a-side.com (http://www.eleven-a-side.com/)

These are all great websites and are up and running and providing a great service. Ideally what should be done is someone from each club should be proactive in sending all the up to date info on each club to one of these sites and adopt that site as the U-21s site ..... maybe even a page on www.fai.ie ... anyway, to ensure that it is successful, one of these sites should be supported and facilitated to providing the info from each club.

Just an idea !! :)

Fair play. I think that irishfootballonline would be the best website as it has a structure in place for the u-21s begging to be used

Contact pat.duffy@fai.ie

He is the RDO for the Under 21 League and I am sure he would be in favour of a revived site for the League.

In the meantime .... if there is any news on the U-21 scene, just fill this form (http://www.irishfootballonline.com/contact.php)out !!

There is a decicated U-21's section on this part (http://www.irishfootballonline.com/news_story.php?comp=Under%2021) of the website.

if anyone is interested in maintaining an u21 website, i can set up the technical bits for them. all they'd have to do is post the results etc, much like on a forum like this.

I still think it is mad having it so fragmented ... there are sites there already, they just need the info. It would mean less work for the people gathering the info because there is a ready made model and they would not have to promote it as those sites are well known already.

Sheridan got there ahead of me with the fixtures, but the combined list of fixtures (all sections) is now on the Bray Wanderers Supporters site at www.braywanderers.com (http://www.braywanderers.com/showarticle.php?id=553)

I'll put Shield results there too when I get them, and I'll try to keep results as up to date as practicable - but I haven't the resouces to do general news or match reports other than Bray's.

Feel free to mail info@braywanderers.com with any major updates.

U21-League.net will be temporarily out of action while I re-build the site in preparation for next season.

My apologies for the lack of updates this season, but personal commitments took up a lot of my time.

Next season, I hope to have a team of admins who can update the site when I'm unavailable. If you're interested in helping out, just mail me at paddy@U21-League.net

By the way...........

Dundalk beat Mullingar Town 3-0 in the U21 league last Saturday 11th at Hiney Park . Goals were scored by Drew Duffy and Colin Finan (2).

Colin went on to make his first team debut the following day in the FAI cup away to Monaghan , and scored as Dundalk won 7-1. :D

The full fixture list was on www.braywanderers.com, until it was screwed up by last minute withdrawals.
The revised one will be up there this week.

BTW, I'm assembling U21 data (Cup/League/Shield) on a historical basis, and there are large gaps, but when I've a decent start made, I'll post it there and let ye know.

Good going this weekend - only two matches postponed AFAIK, and one match in hand already!!!

Paddy Reilly took over from J Canny, who kept his site on TCD's domain (no longer accessible). Paddy ran www.u21-league.net between August 2001 and Spring 2003 (I think, though he may have continued until the end of the transition season 2003).

The note posted above has been on that URL ever since ...

Full list (revised) now on http://www.braywanderers.com (http://www.braywanderers.com/showarticle.php?id=553)

Anyone with information on missing results is welcome to mail to webmaster@braywanderers.com

Anyone like to volunteer to keep tables somewhere?

:)
