I'm talking literally very nearest adult team regardless of league-mine is Godalming and Guildofrd in the Combined Counties Football League. Ground with one stand, about 5 minutes from my house- across the Golf Course-hoping to see az couple of games next season, only £6 to get in.
Cork City FC and yes of course I do.
Watch a bit of MSL as well, mostly Avondale Utd.

I live in the Dublin city centre, so there is no club really close to my place. You don't find stadiums usually in the heart of the city, lack of space...
Lansdowne is about half an hour walk I guess (maybe less even), Tolka and Dalymount and Richmond Park can be reached in less than an hour walk. I do support Shels.
However, I never agreed with the "always support your local team", in Belgium I supported a team at 50 miles from home, and I don't support Belgium or Ireland - I support Norway.
Support the team you like most, no matter how close or far away. :ball:

You must walk very slowly ;)
The closest team to where I live is Bohemians, a mile away at most, and I have a season ticket.
Century Homes Park (or Gortakeegan as it was then) is the closest ground to where I grew up, about a mile and a half away, and I (obviously) support Monaghan United FC.
Last season was difficult when both United and Bohs played home games on Friday night, but now United are back to Sunday afternoon home games. With the new M1 and the Carrickmacross by-pass I can be home for games in an hour and a half - Sunday lunch with my mother then a game. Only downside is no pints after the game.
White Hart Lane, Tottenham.
Only been there once in the last fifteen years and that was to see them play CELTIC. :D
But next year my local ground will be the Stadio Via Stazione in Newbridge, where I will be for every home game.

My local team is Queen's Park Rangers but, whilst I have a "soft spot" for them, I'm not a fan.

Partick Thistle - never been. However as the crow flies (ie over the Clyde) Ibrox is probably nearer. Obviously a big no for that!

Senior team would be Cork City- rarely miss a game. MSL-wise I guess Rockmount and a few others are nearer.
Dalymount Park. I don't support Bohemians but have gone to few Euro games as neutral in the past.

Casement United! Think they play in some Sunday kick-about league. They play in the Clonkeen Meadow - none of this namby-pamby stands or terracing stuff! WOuld stop to watch if I'm walking through, but other than that, no.
Nearest "proper" team is TEK United, who COrk fans will remember from the FAI Cup a few years back. Was at a few friendlies of theirs a few years ago - Pat's and Peterborough.
Nearest league team then is UCD. And I go to see them on the odd occasion! :)

Gone to Inchicore for a few Pat's games (but as a neutral).
Thursday matchnights for Dundalk are a disaster for me.

Waterford United when growing up - yes I do still support them
Currently live about half way between Dalymount and Tolka, possibly nearer Dalyer - depends on who they are playing, but I'd be at five or ten Bohs games any given year - work and Blues permitting. Wouldn't even say I have a soft spot for them, but I do find myself getting worked up anytime that Foley and Keddy make the team still  .

New York / New Jersey Metrostars
Haven't followed MLS yet, so can't say I support them. I'm thinking of giving it a chance (it's the beautiful game, it's on tv, there's feck all else on most of the time), watching some of the league that is, and if I do I would support them.

Ballybunion Celtic in the KDL have their pitch about 200yards from my house. Used to play with them and I see an odd game now and then. As for the eL, then Limerick is the closest club and I do support them. Would see more Limerick matches a season than Bb Celtic.

My local team would be either Wyteleaf United or Trinity Sports and Leisure.
Like pineapple no stands or anything with these teams. Do I support them ? No I am too busy for mickey mouse level ball. COuldn't support Trinity Sports And Leisure and be a U.C.D. man... have you heard some of our chants ? And besides the locals wear the same colours as those Dublin University shower.
Nearest EL team is Shelbourne. I go to the odd game when UCD are miles from home and to go to the game would necessitate taking a day off work.
I support UCD cause when I was in College they were the nearest to the Arts Block. Even though when I started I had to travel over on Sundays from home two buses etc until I managed to convert the Dad to the beautiful game.
:ball:
I'm about equi-distant between Southampton and Eastleigh.
I'm a Saints fan, but watch out for Eastleigh's results. Never been to see them though. Keep meaning to.

You must walk very slowly ;)
I live near what would be called "The Village Quarter", so that's the part of the city centre not too far from Grafton St and Dame St.
Walking from there to Tolka takes me approx 45 minutes I guess, I didn't really time it yet. Maybe there's a shorter way but I usually pass along Trinity and O'Connell Street which is just a nice walk.
No real close team if you live in Dublin centre unfortunately. If there'd be a ground in the city I would probably now and then pass along to watch games yeah (maybe a hint for Dublin City - if you want to build an own ground, come to the city centre ! ;) ).
Now the closest ground to the city centre would probably be Richmond Park, and as a Shels fan I cannot go there obviously.

Where does Trinity SL play their games ? The uni itself has no sports facilities, unless not the campus I know... Would be convenient since Trinity is a very close walk to my home.
@ BoysInGreen: NY/NJ MetroStars moved out of NY City to New Jersey, but are they back in NY yet ?
I don't know if you're interested in stadiums... I am a groundhopper, and if I ever come to NY a must-see is the local amateur soccer stadium. Only approx 1000 capacity and only used by local amateur teams, but it is the oldest stadium in the entire USA used for soccer.

Nearest ground is Stadio Filadelfia, of Turin AC, but it isn't used since many years.
Near this, about one hundred metres, there's Stadio Comunale, of Juventus and for some years used by Turin. Also this ground isn't use for official matches. Just use for training of Juventus.
I've been at the most home matches of Turin three and four seasons ago at Stadio Delle Alpi, and I've been at some Juventus home matches in the past, at the same stadium.
But I don't support nor Turin nor Juventus, despite I follow the results of Turin every week.
I support Arsenal.. :p

Nearest team if we go to the lowest level is Terenure CYM. At eL level I'd say St. Pats though UCD are pretty close to me. Neither is walkable and UCD are a single bus ride.

Kerrs Tribe - You must be a west endie so? Partick are a strange team. Seem to get the support of people from Maryhill and West Endies who think they're being so anti sectarian by ignoring both of the Old Firm.

:D I am indeed, well for the last few years now. They have a strange support, cos they are not posh or good enough for most of the posh trendy west endies and the majority of Maryhill has a staunch one or the other side appeal to the Old firm, mostly Celtic. Us students here don't really give a dung either way. :D

Actually have the Metrostars on as I type, playing Chicago Fire, just went down on a deflection 1-0, 30 mins gone. Playing in New Jersey @ Giants Stadium.
Have to plead ignorance on the NY soccer scene.

Santry, though I think the U-21s games are on the cricket pitch in the middle of campus.
If that is true they're by far the closest team to me, the only team in the city centre even.
Would surprise me though if they'd play in the campus... I never knew there was a sports field inside the campus, and certainly not one used for football... Could you check that for me ? I may go to a game then if it's true...
When I just moved to Ireland I lived in Tallaght for a while, and Shamrock Rovers' new ground (well, what it should be one day  ) was just around the corner, two minute walk from my front door. Still it was Shels that won the battle for my support, and given what is happening at SRFC now they may never even play a game in Tallaght. The club may be finished before their ground is  I have hardly been back in Tallaght since I left to live in the city centre, but I guess the ground is still far from finished...
Dundrum Celtic, Wayside Celtic (I think Beavis plays for the Juniors) & UCD.

Nearest Amateur Team: Coogee United- I support and play for them :p
Nearest Pro Team: Soon to be Sydney FC in the new 8 team A League. Sydeny will be joined by teams from Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Newcastle (NSW), Central Coast (NSW) and New Zealand. A League starts in August but a qualifying comp for the World Club Championships starts next month.
Sydney FC's star signing is Dwight Yorke. Rumours that he signed after seeing topless chicks at Bondi has been denied by the club :D

Trinity Sports and Leisure play their games at Father Collins Park in Donaghmede. Trinity (sh1te) a.k.a as Dublin University a.k.a. Queen Elizabeth I institute of Advanced Heresy :D play their matches at Santry Avenue when they are not using College Park, Dublin 2.

Trinity College... have a pitch in their city centre campus and one at Santry Avenue
Trinity SPorts and Leisure which is a seperate entity located North of the M25 at Donaghmede is a Sports Club team and their pitch is at Father Collins Park. They both were red and Black Stripes etc . A bit like Bohs gear!

They have a field within their campus ?? Never seen it so far, will check tomorrow...
well, given this reply now I have to change my previous answers: yes there is a club playing in the city centre, and as it's the only one in the CC also my closest club. Don't support them cause I just found out about it...
But will check a game.
