View Full Version : The Pixies announce Dublin concert

The Pixies are returning to Ireland for a major outdoor show with Kings of Leon in August.

As part of the BudRising summer music programme, they will play Lansdowne Road on 23 August.

Scissors Sisters, Franz Ferdinand and Maroon 5 will also play Lansdowne Road on 24 August.

The Chemical Brothers will play Marlay Park on 19 August, with Basement Jaxx, Underworld and Mylo playing Marlay Park on 20 August.

Tickets for all the concerts will go on sale on Friday 6 May, with Lansdowne Road tickets €59.50, Marlay Park tickets €54.50 and a ticket for all four concerts €150.

yay for pixies!

saw them at phoenix park last year they totally overshadowed the rhcp imo.

Of course the greatest band ever were going to overshadow such mediocrity. Jesus Lads cant wait :D

i go to buy standing tickets for this gig and was quoted:

€49 for terrace, or €59 for pitch standing

wdf is that about?????
a tenner extra to stand on the pitch as opposed the terrace??

No really,Lansdowne is a kip and all the action will be on the pitch for that gig,it's worth the extra tenner,if you were going to see Elton John(dread the thought)it would be better to be in the stand and I imagine prices would be reversed.

The terrace is at the far end of the ground, the stage being at the North terrace end, go for pitch, I'll be working at it, so personally I'll be paid to watch! :p
