A mixture of the curious and the devout have flocked to an underpass in Chicago to see the supposed image of the Virgin Mary which has appeared on a wall.
Police have started regular patrols at the site which has attracted hundreds of devotees.
Many have left candles and flowers at the site which has become a pilgrimage point in the United States.
A picture of the late Pope John Paul II and the Virgin Mary in a similar pose as the image on the wall had been put next to the site.

Curiosity took me down to Ballinspittle but I didn't see anything moving. It may have been a trick of the lights at Turners Cross, but I am pretty sure I saw Dan Murray moving in the game against UCD. :D

There's a wonderful book out there called Beyond Belief by Irish Times and sometime Hot Press writer Liam Fay. The preface of the book deals with the Jesus of Coolock "apparitions" of 1990.
I challenge anyone here to read the preface from one end to the other without wetting themselves.
A Dublin schoolgirl noticed, co-incidently on the day she was due back in school after her xmas hols, a curious phenomena in a wood knot on her bedroom door. Suspecting it was something miraculous she got her mother to join her in staring at it for a couple of hours before deciding that the Nazarene carpenter had indeed turned up to inspect their archetrave.
Within days there were queues round the block of people wanting to see Jesus of Coolock. They set up a notebook and headed it "What I Saw" and got people to write down what they saw ...despite having been told on the way in that it was Jesus and numerous newspaper articles about it some visitors got it wrong and saw Padre Pio  and Mary  .
Five full days later someone noticed the blessed Virgin in the fitted wardrobe... :D
