This is a bit of good news for Richie. Fair Play.

He'll probably trip up and break his leg getting on the bus to Drogheda and fall on top of Keith O'Neill, who has come along to watch, and break both his arms.

Good luck to him.
It's good news indeed if his injuries have recovered sufficiently to allow him play at such a high level again. Just as long as he's not 100% fit, razor sharp and in the side for Fridays game at the cross. ;)

Hope it goes well for him. He was desperately unlucky with injuries just when he seemed destined to make a big breakthrough.

Still young enough at 26, a mate of mine is a Millwall fan and still raves about how good he was the whole time.

Did he not say in an interview though that the doctors warned him to quit or face a hip replacement in his 30's? Must have got a second opinion!

I agree of course. It's just he and Keith O'Neill have been so plagued with injury (particularly poor Keith) to defy belief.

Fair play to him, definitely. I'm delighted for him. Even if he never plays at a higher level it's still nice to play footie. But lets hope he finds some of the talent he once had.

great news for sads altogether, but does it say something about the standard he will be playing at??, because something like the hip problem he suffers from never properly cures, same as chronic dislocation.

I thought he wasn't allowed to play professional football again because of the terms in his retirement payments?

According to his sister he wont be signing, due to constant injury. At this moment in time he is still getting treatment.

It doesn't make much sense to me, if his injuries have forced him to retire how can he play for Drogheda? Injuries will hurt him at any level, so if he can't play football in England it's surely equally hard and dangerous to play it anywhere?

aye something fishy there i think, even as a bit part player. maybe he is just hoping that after 3 years or so he may be able to play some part.

Its a blow to the milwall youth team anyways, he was doing good work with them, and was a firm favourite down there. Best of luck to him, my mate knows him well, and hes a top bloke by all accounts.

You have to feel for the guy, he's obviously desperate to get playing again.
