While it still doesn't seem right on a Sunday night prime time slot, this is a great program.
Lastnight featured two bands I have heard about, but hadn't heard much of their music -The Radio, and Republic of Loose. Two very different bands, but I'll defenitley be buying their albums now.

Also, American Music Club last week - excellent.

ROL - This Is The Tomb of the Juice is a pretty good album. My bro went to see them live and reckoned they live up to it as well.

No. It was on tv last Sunday night. Not sure if it's repeated during the week. I only caught the second half. Wouldn't consider myself a fan, but it was quite good.

Steve Earle was shown on TV last sunday night and he was excellent. I've also seen Republic of Loose a couple of times and they are very good live. Front man is top class and makes sure the crowd get well into it....

Really enjoying this series, some great bands that wouldnt usually get much exposure, particularly to a prime time TV audience.

Thought American Music Club were brilliant, recently played in Dublin and I'm sorry I missed it after seeing them on the show. :( First time i've heard any of their stuff, can anybody recommend a couple of their albums, i know they're around a while??

You've probably heard of Mark Eitzel, have you?
He's the frontman of AMC, who went solo about ten years ago. They're only back together, and have a new album out.

I haven't heard the new one yet, but I do have 'Mercury', and 'California', both of which I would reccomend.
I think Mercury was their 'major label' release in the early '90's. Great album.

Mark Eitzel is playing in Cork on 4th June (solo I think) so I'd imagine he's doing more dates around the country at the same time. I never saw AMC but saw Eitzel solo twice and he's very good.

No, havent heard of Eitzel. Other voices was the first time i'd ever heard the band AMC. Definitely going to check out a couple of their albums anyway. I'll keep an eye out for any gigs, Eitzel solo or AMC over the next while anyway, doesnt seem to be anything lined up at the moment though.
