Thought he should have his own thread now - got his first goal at League One level as Coventry held table-toppers Luton: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47268829

Didn't King say he was delighted to get this guy on board, and had been after him for some time, or words to that effect when he first came on board ? Hardly encouraging stuff in the present climate.
What is his link ?
Has he spoken at all about his call ups & his heritage ?

One for the tactically Irish for now category I'd worry.

Might be in the lineup for today's match according to a paper in Coventry.

Also I see when we discussed him last year there was a question here on his desire to play for Ireland, but he talked in promising terms about wanting a call up.

An article from earlier this summer:

He told the Coventry Telegraph: “Last season ended with me so close to 10 for both [goals and assists], but that is my target again for next season and I am really looking forward to seeing what happens.

“I also want that Ireland call-up as well. That’s something that I have been waiting for, but that is only going to come from good and consistent performances so it is all down to me at the end of the day.”

Although born in England, Shipley is eligible to represent Ireland through his mother. He won two U21 caps – against Israel and Germany in October 2018 – after being called up by then-manager Noel King.

He has a lot of first team football from League 1 and 2 under his belt for a guy who's still 22. Could be one to watch.

First goal at Championship level for Shipley as Coventry drew 1-1 with Swansea: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/54519016 - worth giving him a run-out in one of the Nations League games?
