Thought about this before, but surely Rovers should have a certain piece of music to run out to at home games.

Not that the sound system at the Showgrounds is all that hectic but hey !!

The lads have had to run out to a feeble version of the Match of the day theme over the last few years, but what about something different.

Saint Pat's trot out to the Saints go marching in ( pretty lame i know ! ).

The best one though has to be the Brandywell where the players run out to Teenage Kicks by the Undertones !!!!!!!

So what should our lads run out to ??? Any suggestions ? Serious ones and fun ones welcomed !

Considering that Derry use their very own Undertones makes me think of Westlife and ... Flying without Wings.

My second choice would be U2 and a track from their first album ...
I will follow

Again as Showgies suggests with loads of volume

I think that match of the day is way too cheesy

Heres some suggestions of my own:
Thin Lizzy - Boys are back in town
U2 - Beautiful Day

Why not get some of our local musicians, Tabby, Barry, Francie et al, to put together a rocked up version of that great song Bananarama stole from us?

Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na
Hey Hey Hey
Sligo Rovers

I think it might just work :-))))

Anyone watching the Chelsea game last night would I'm sure have heard the guy on the PA coming on every so often saying something in german of course which lead into a song... it really got the crowd going. Now do ya think our buck on da PA would be capable of something like that. Ahhhh do ya??

Our "Buck" on the PA is the Chairman. Now, some of his music leaves alot to be desired, but if someone could put together a CD, I'm sure he'd have no problem playing it. We need an anthem of some sorts. Harps one time played something over the PA after they scored, so maybe thats another way of getting the crowd going. How about the na na song?

what that is, is he would shout " goalscorer for Bayern" and they would call out the name. He would then shout out say for e.g. "bayern" with the crowd shouting the score "3" and then "Chelsea" with the crowd shouting "2". Afterwards they would go into song. VERY INTIMIDATING when you get the whole crowd to join in.

By the sound of it we would only be intimidating when we score
I don't think supporters need to be lifted at a time when they are celebrating a goal

Its a bit hard getting a chant going in the main stand, with all the middle-aged people who find the chanting an annoyance and then parents of kids who find the language abbusive.(hard to blame them). So open our shed!!!
