Galway catch Vikings in rampant mood

DUBLIN CITY kept up the pressure on the eircom First Division pace-setters following this emphatic victory over Galway United at Richmond Park, yesterday.
City drew first blood on 26 minutes after Galway centre-half Nigel Keady misjudged a long clearance from Brendon Kennedy.
Trevor Vaughan capitalised to roll the ball past the advancing keeper Alan Gough with Robbie Collins following in to score.
Vaughan netted the second when he headed past Gough from a Michael Holt cross on 32 minutes.
Galway pulled a goal back on 68 minutes through David Goldby before the home side made the game safe with goals from Vaughan (75) and Gorman (88).

Stephen Henderson's side beat Kilkenny City 2-1 at Buckley Park while Sligo were held 0-0 by Limerick at the Showgrounds. Kildare County won their first game of the season with a 2-1 win over Dundalk.
