Haven't seen it posted here yet, last month's FourFourTwo had the top 50 players outside the premiership, and Stephen Elliott was in at number 25, not bad for his first full season in the game.

Lee Trundle was in the top 20, although I can't think of his exact rating.

It also listed the next best 50, including David Connolly (to be fair, he is a proven goalscorer at Championship level) and Michael Reddy - not sure about him to be honest!

Michael Reddy - I'm afraid not. Had a spell at Wednesday. For every good game, he had 3 bad. Pity as I think I recall Niall Quinn saying that he would be a star one day.

elliott was 33. trundle was 13. Jamie Brooks was 50-nothing to do with Ireland, but what a legend!

I remember several years back and Matt Jansen was number one, and boy, is his career on fire (I know, injuries)

Yeah, sidwell, released (or sold, can't remember) by Arsenal a few years back, now Wenger is supposed to be looking to buy him back!

Jamie Brooks - is he the Oxford Utd one-time 'wonderkid'????

One-time??!! He's still the man. Just wait til next season when he comes back fully! He'll lead Ramon Diaz's yellow and blue army to League One glory!!

Question for moderators....
When did Skun-thorpe( phonetically spelt to avoid censorship) become a swear word? In my opinion that kind of censorship is total Ball Ox :D

It came up in about 10 threads. :) Trundle is Irish. He has been wearing Irish jersey's since he was a kid and travels over to Dublin quite often. He rejected a call up from N.Ireland because he wants to play for Ireland.

"Even when I was a kid I grew up supporting Ireland even though I lived in England, and all my mates had England kits on I always had an Ireland kit on so it’s not something that’s just cropped up, it’s always been in my family, all the time."
