Hard too see looking back now what the point was.

Don't think they were particularily cheap or the concentrate & the soda stream coke didn't taste like real coke.

Was Coca Cola really expensive in the 80's?

i remember them ok,
like fizzy dishwater tbh, unless they've dramatically improved them i can't see too many people liking it

Hard too see looking back now what the point was.Jeez pete, lighten up, the entire point was that they were fun! It tasted nasty and it's wasn't particularly cheap, but what child doesn't like pumping too much carbon dioxide into a water/concentrate mix to make farting noises, and a right mess when you open the handle too suddendly! Yaaay!

I know its probably great nostalgia looking back but can't the modern world taking to soda fizz (might need new name too).

Think back to your own childhood & daily activities & maybe i'm missing something but todays kids wouldn't be into half the same things.

Funny how some things keep coming back though, like yoyos and hula hoops.

its so true. Went shopping for a 6years old birthday present, and its all the same games. operation, buckaroo, mousetrap - they had just been revamped for kids nowadays.

I used to love the auld Sodastream - hated the taste of it, but over doing the bubbles in the water was a hoot, as was over doing the bubbles, screwing the lid on, shaking it to bejaysus, and swapping it with my sister's bottle of it for her lunch in school. I never did find out if it exploded on her, but I kept doing it.

I also really enjoyed the sound it made when there was no water in it too :D :D :D

God, looking back, it gives one the impression that I wasn't always the consumate sophistcate I am today.

Soda streams - the memories!!

It used to be our treat every now and again...My sister and I knocked great fun out of it....I do remember though, the gas was quite expensive, or at least thats what my Mam used to tell us...

Took a bottle of me mam's home made wine and gave it the sodastream treatment. The marks of the carbonated wine that sprayed all over the room were difficult to explain away. Oh, happy memories when she blamed my older brother. :D
