Could the Peake Villa/Westport game be in doubt, Westtport Cooaght Cup game was postponed yesterday, was their talk 1 of the players with susected meningitis, that lad had died a Adam Mulchrone only 21, RIP Adam and symapthyes to his family and friends and all at Westport Utd.

That game is re-fixed for next Sunday

I think it's the last 8 from the Intermediate Cup and last 4 from Junior Cup that qualify for the FAI Cup.

I've doubly checked the last two years and as I thought, it's the last 4 from the Junior and last 16 from the Intermediate that go into the preliminary round of the FAI Senior Cup.
4 of those 20 get a bye into the first round.

I always looked up to what ye done in junior football over last few years but this leaves a bitter taste..regional have same panel all season and we they may be a paperwork error but move on from it. IF ,there was an illegal player on the pitch they were not beaten fair and square,rules are there for a reason ,sure chaos would ensue otherwise.Big clubs are just that for a reason,Sheriff have obviously spotted something and are well entitled to pursue it.

If he played with regional all season and maybe a slip up on paperwork or something by a junior club I think it's terrible bad form by a big club like sheriff.. 100% agree if it is a suspended player or a player signed with other club I would totally back sheriff but by all acc it's a simple paperwork error if anything...

I agree with you 100% , the player in question has been playing junior soccer last 2years , I am sure he played with AA whether the objection goes back to that time I don’t know but time will tell, but either way no winners in this one , it takes value away from the trophy and winning it in that fashion. Strange if he is illegal that the ldmc has excepted he’s form and let him play in the league for two years.

I didn’t think sheriff had enough to get that objection tbh , but some many stories going around it’s hard to nail down what’s going on lol

First post guys but i felt i should reply. Regional have done nothing wrong or illegal. Rule 22.1 of the FAI Rule book states "Any player aged ten (10) years or over wishing to be registered within the jurisdiction of the Football Association of Ireland having LAST BEEN REGISTERED within another jurisdiction must obtain an International Transfer Certificate ("ITC"). The player in question was LAST REGISTERED by the LDMC. This enabled him to play for AA in season 2017/2018. Therefore there is no onus on Regional to have an ITC. The player in question has been abroad for the last number of weeks but no transfer form was signed by Regional for him to sign elsewhere or no ITC was requested by another jurisdiction for him to play elsewhere, he has always been a registered Regional player.
I do not know if AA got an ITC for him to play with them that season but that is of no concern to Regional as his ​LAST REGISTRATION was signed for and accepted by the LDMC. He also played in the FAI cup that year. If AA did not receive an ITC for him then every game he played with them that season he would have been illegal, teams have lost cup games, league games and two relegated incorrectly if that was the case. If AA did receive an ITC he would have been a legal player with AA, meaning Regional do not need an ITC, meaning they have no case to answer and if he was illegal then rule 22.1 still applies as his LAST REGISTRATION was still signed and accepted by LDMC.
On another note it would be interesting to discover who informed Sheriff.
