Was in The Submarine Bar for the match on Saturday. About an hour after the match was over the DJ came on. The atmosphere was good, everyone enjoying themselves as much as they could after the result. The the DJ played TINA TURNER - SIMPLY THE BEST this was when the table of about 15 lads all wearing Ceptic jerseys start going f*cking MAD, screaming and shouting abuse at DJ, throwing beer mats and bits of food at him, then singing hail hail,

Just because THE BEST was played at Ibrox

MUPPETS

Don't know if this was answered in the thread but "simply the best" is a loyalist solgan and its no wonder rangers play it with there history. Also, in the rangers "version" of simply the best the hordes of bigots chant **** like FTP etc...Everytime I hear that song it makes me sick, in Ireland the song stands for loyalism.

Shame the song has been tainted. Wonder what she'd say if she knew quite a number of supporters of 'white power' were claiming her song as their anthem - Clearest example being Johnny 'Wet me bed' - (cue Conor and reference to Mark Walters...if he wasn't 'in hiding' that is).

Yes EIREBOY i do hate Ceptic.

And thats mainly because of so called "fans" like the ones I'm talking about

MUPPETS :D

Yea I have noticed a bit that you do seem to have a slight dislike towards Celtic.

I am not going to at all say that all Celtic fans in Ireland are angels, i've met a fair few eejits that have left me p**sed off with their carry on, but that does not mean that every Celtic fan is like that.

I have supported Celtic since the 70's and I for one deplore sectarianism and have always got on great with workmates who are Rangers fans.

You seem to think that its just Celtic fans that are prone to a bit of acting the muppet, I suppose you don't remember or know of how Hibs fans are quite known to dress up in their casual gear and got involved in a bit of organised football violence, but hey its just Celtic fans that act the muppet.

Let people support who they want, what ffin difference does it make. Every football following team has its scum and its true down to earth supporters and this includes Celtic. There is some outrageous statements being made here and i cant believe some people can be so narrow minded.

It'd be nice if the fan police was disbanded and people were left to support the club of their choice in peace.

The way supporting a club works is quite simple. For a, b, and/or c a person is intrigued by, takes a fancy to, or feels an affinity to a club. Hence they invest their time and energy following them, all the while the affinity grows. They invest in that club. They feel and are a part of it.

Nobody knows quite how the chip on the shoulders of the fan police got there. It seems ultimately to boil down to the human vice of jealousy. The fan police seek to ridicule some fans for x, y, z. They want to marginalize that fans enjoyment and participation, ruin as best they can the experience and allegiance that fan has and feels. Shame shame.
