So you have to get 'sponsored' and have to be registered three months before you can apply for access, seems a crock to me, it's not even that interesting for me anyway..

Its not worth it, you cant say anything without getting a warning or banned, its a crock of shít alright.

They did it that way because the level of abuse was an absolute disgrace on the board. You can hardly blame them for running a tight ship in light of that.

Never saw it in it's previous days, it must have been pretty bad.

All they'd have to do imo is to delete the stupid posters and ban them. I've never seen any abuse on this message board so why aint that one the same?

It's different over there, Soccer is just one forum among hundreds, whereas Foot.ie is kind of the other way around. And believe me, there's plenty of abuse on Foot.ie; unfortunately I have to see all of it. Anyway, the Access Request thing was introduced because there was a huge increase in people setting up multiple accounts to post abuse. For much the same reason, all new registrations on Foot.ie now have to be approved. It's a complete pain in the arse, but if I didn't do it the signal to noise ratio would go ballistic.

jeasus that sounds like an awful thing
good thing it doesnt happen on any other sites we know of, all sorts of crazy mayhem woud be connected to it
