Doyler will go nowhere until at least the end of the season, anyway we're on par with the likes of Reading and Stoke these days. Apart from the wages and prestige issue I'd see it as a useless move for him =)

the madski stadium (excuse the spelling )is very similar to turners cross as is there whole set up .i.e. training facilities and youth accademies. I'm sure Kevin Doyle would not be interested in higher wages

I hope who ever writes the cheques at Reading knows how to spell One Million Pounds, and agree to a sell on clause, otherwise they can **** off

I'd say that would be at least 699,999.99 overpriced ;)

Doyle is a superstar.

Maybe €1M euro with a 25% sell on clause so, plus €100,000 after he makes his senior debut and another €100,000 after he plays 50 league games

How on earth did we ever get him from Pats? Probably the single best thing Dolan ever did for City

interesting

Hope I'm wrong but on the face of things it looks bad.Either its a case of reading being tipped off to Doyler or pure coincidence .......the family links sure makes my mind up for me

With all due respect to you lads, Reading are in the play-off positions in the English 'Championship' and pull in average crowds well in excess of any club in our league. You have a ways to go to be on a par with them.

Also comparing Turners Cross to a 24,200 seater stadium with a shuttle bus service from the train station in Reading itself is stretching things a bit!

Hopefully the lure of top flight football and playing in Europe will keep Doyle on this side of the sea though.

Maybe not a million pounds but Doyle is one of the Irish U21s best players, a proven scorer in Europe against quality opposition and his contract, afaik, isn't expiring soon. Why shouldn't Cork demand a big transfer fee? We aren't in the days of transfer fees to EL clubs being a token gesture, if Reading want a player of Doyles quality they have to pay for it.

The short of it ..... If any club wants him then they will be paying.

The club have been slated time after time over the Delaney sale (if you could call it that) So there is not way they should be making the same mistake again.

DE TOWN ..... out of interest .... what is he worth ??

I would have said half a million pounds tops.

Doyle is a proven irish u-21 player, probably 8-9 caps at this stage?

English clubs buy u-21 players from other small european countries & would never get away with paying 100k or so.

IMO hes one of best players in the league (how he didn't make last seasons team of the year i'll never know) & would be serious dent to city to lose him as couldn't be replaced.

Transfer window doesn't open til summer so he not going anywhere soon...
