Comfortable win for WYW in Ferrycarrig this afternoon as they gathered the three points without bother, but great credit to Kilkenny and their mentors as both never gave up despite playing with only ten due to injuries and work. Wexford started with Sophie, Nicola, Lolly, Lauren, Amy, Aisling, Orla, Kylie, Katrina and with Rianna and Claire up front. It took WYW a while to get used to the unusual demographics of the game but first goal came on 14 minutes when Rianna Jarrett turned in a goal which may have come off a Kilkenny defender. After Lauren Dwyer hit the cross-bar with a speculative long-range effort, it was 2-0 just after the half-hour when Rianna netted a close-in volley. It was 3-0 just before the whistle when Rianna headed in a great cross by Nicola Sinnott. 3-0 to the home side at half-time.
