Don is in an intelligent man. He wouldn't come to an amateur, cowboy club like Cork City.

It's a pity but it's true.

When DB left he said that the club needed a manager who was in football full time (like DM & LM) and that he was never going to give up his succesful pluming business. I cant really see him coming back for that reason as much as anything else. Also the fans were getting on his back at the end of his last season & I think that he ran out of ideas.

I wouldnt be atall suprised if Jonny C turned out to be a very good manager. He knows every trick in the book, is very pasionate about the game and has some coaching badges. AFIK he is the City school boy (or some youths level) manager/coach, so he would be clearly interested. I think that managers who were forwards during their playing carrers play more atractive/positive football, Alex Ferguson, Kevin Keegan, Dave Barry(well, an attacking midfielder), where as backs who go on to manage, are more defencive in their style (safety first). Unfortunitally some people already have their mind made up about Jonny C. Is membership open yet for the Jonny Out Brigade yet, I wonder?

Many people are against Johnny C being manager without knowing anything about the style of management he'd employ.
.
my only reason for not wanting him, is that I don't want ANYONE from within the club appointed. it HAS to be an outsider

can you prove allegations of corruption and wrongdoing because while the likes of neil, eanna and james like to go on about such things they never prove it.

dalo, i have never alleged any corruption. i have simply said that in terms of marketing etc, the club is badly run. most of the board would probably admit that too. also, the comments you're making are utterly libelous and I'd ask you to bear that in mind and be a bit more careful what you say.

btw, don o'riordan apparently said in a newspaper that he turned the city job down after DM got sacked. i don't know if he'd come to city- who would!
