Ok Murphys resigns/is sacked. Dave Barry comes back and goes on an unbeaten run. We get into the Inter Toto. Board thinks this is great. Another trip to eastern europe! Dave signs on again as manager. A couple of new players are signed for the squad but not for the team (they'll be released before Christmas) We get off to a good start. Win a few easy ones. However soon the cracks begin to appear. We want Barry out!!! Groundhog Day!

Lads lets face it until we get a progressive board who are prepared to invest in a full time set up with a professional full time manager and squad we'll always be playing for 4th place at best.

PS If anyone mentions that this board saved City I'll scream!! That was 6 years ago! 1996.
The question is what happens next?

The fact that Moses was so vocal in his "Murphy Out" chants at the Limerick game won't bode well for Murphy. Whether we/they like it or not, I think (?) Moses still has a lot of "say" in what happens at City.

At this stage, I think that the only people who actually listen to Moses are some of the kids in the Shed, just coz they dont know any better. Still a valid point though Neil. :o

Can't
a) see them sacking Murphy, because his two year deal would be to expensive [by the boards standards] to pay off.
b) see Barry coming back, he has left because he did not want to manage city

SACK THE B:DARD

What about the 98/98 season, Dave Barry was not a part time manager/plumber and we hadn't a professional playing squad yet we came within one goal of winning the league.

IMO that just highlights how lacking Murphy is in every department

But the league itself has moved forward, we have stood still/taken a few steps backward. I doesnt really matter who the manager is, be it LM, DB, Dm or Fabio Capello, if the club maintains its current state of ineptitude and everything is fine attitude, Cork City FC will not progress to the levels Bohs and Shels have. No-one within the club seems to want to move forwrd in the new millenium, and until they move forward, we as a club will be screwed.
