At this afternoon’s eircom League Special General Meeting, Eamon Naughton of Galway United was elected Honorary Treasurer of the eircom League.

Following an election, the remaining two vacancies on the Board of Control were filled by Tony Connaughton of Athlone Town and Barry Walsh of Cobh Ramblers.

The Disciplinary Procedures for the 2005 season were also agreed at the meeting.

Throw a few quid our way now Eamon !!!! :o

.. that its always representatives of the jokey outfits in the EL who get jobs on the committ-ee. The chairman is from Athlone, there is another Athlone man there, Cobh Ramblers, and of course ourselves.

It strikes me that those involved in the "big" clubs prefer to devote their energies to keeping their own clubs in the Premier and challenging for trophies, while they are happy to divvy out places on comitt-ees to the representatives of the pub teams.

I wish Eamon well all the same, he follows his esteemed clubman John Byrne
in occuping a role in Merrion Square.
