Suspensions confirmed for opening weekend


The eircom League has confirmed the list of suspended players for the first weekend of the season, with Drogheda United and Derry City – who meet in a Premier Division opener at United Park this coming Friday night – among the worst hit, missing five and three players respectively.

Drogheda will be without strikers Tony Bird and Declan O’Brien, defenders Damian Lynch and David Sullivan and winger Shane Robinson, while Derry will miss defenders Damien Brennan and Eddie McCallion and midfielder Barry Molloy – who they signed from Drogheda since the end of last season.

a bit worrying since both sami ristilia and stephen gray are both doubtful, we're set to offer stepehn bradley a contract but it may not be til after the derry game the club are worried about his fitness as he is recovering from a stab wound

What happened there ? i heard he played really well in your last friendly

Apparently he was stabbed last summer by intruders to his London home one of the lads on the drogs site picked it up in todays Sun
