Expecting Limerick to put in a performance against us tonight. They have been picking and choosing their performances carefully this season it seems but with so many former City players I can't imagine them rolling over against us. Early goal could change all that though.

You don't seriously expect Limerick to make it a close game?
Cork could play JC in goals and would still be ok

I think they will raise their game for us. Half their team has played for us in the past. I don't expect them to roll over the way they did for Dundalk. As bad as they have been in certain games this season they have 7 points from their first 5 games.
An early goal or two could mean they completely switch off though but if they can keep it tight til half time anything can happen.

You can only sit back in awe at THE MANS ability to inspire opposition players as he criticises Simon Madden's defensive abilities ahead of tonight's clash with St Pats!

Cork should be fine tonight, unlikely they will face such a 'hostile' atmosphere as the one they couldn't deal with last Friday in Dundalk.
McCormack still going on about that in the Mirror today, give it up lads, do you expect any team to make it easy for you, or for anyone else?

First regular league game between Wexford & Drogheda tonight, they've not shared a division before, just the 2 legged playoff in 2016
They should bring in Lee Chin for the occasion.
Although just for the first half obviously.

I haven't read it, but if an opposition player mentioned a hostile atmosphere at the Cross I'd take it as a compliment. I don't really understand the complaints from you guys. It's very rare that our lads play in an away game with a significant and aggressively vocal home support, relative to home games. It's a good thing for the league. There's a difference between mentioning something as a factor and saying you want it to stop. I'd be absolutely shocked if McCormack claimed he wanted or expected teams to not do that. Its what fans should be doing.

I have not read any Conor McCormack comments either.
The reactions earlier in the week were based on what John Caulfield said in post match interviews, and were more in the realms of ridicule and hilarity at how absurd they were. He unintentionally painted his captain as being something of a snowflake.
The atmosphere in Oriel Park last week was electric.

I know that he was part of Sean Maguire's league winning set up last season but if cork don't beat Limerick by at least three goals tonight john caulfield should be shot on his return to cork.
Just like ye did to Michael Collins.

For the benefit of those who didn't read the Mirror, McCormack was asked about being subbed, and said JC was right to take him off as the atmosphere meant the crowd would be on the ref's back if he were to make another foul. Hardly complaining or 'going on'.

Athlone v UCD suspended?
Riots between the various fan bases I presume?
Or what's gone on there?

Floodlights gone per an Athlone Town Twitter.
Game also started late because Athlone had several numbers wrong on their teamsheet. What a joke this league is at times.
Elsewhere, Wexford 0-3 Drogheda inside 20 minutes, and Wexford have also missed a penalty.

Actually, is that a record (albeit an utterly pointless one)? Drogheda rack up 10 goals within the first 115 minutes of the season

Make that 11 in 117...
What's gone wrong at Wexford since winning the league in 2015?
Galway 1-0 up. Furlong with his 5th in 3 matches.
Drogs now 5 up after 26mins ! I wonder will anyone have the correct scoreline come the end of the match in the prediction league!

One back for Wexford! This is on...
15 minutes' added time in Athlone. Where a third teamsheet has been issued because Athlone got the second one wrong as well

The most amazing thing about Drogheda having 11 goals from 1.5 games is that I'm still not sure if they're any good or not

Stu I’m in the same boat lol ... we can just beat the team against us but I need to see us against yourselves , Cobh, Galway etc.
We are a young side, very physically fit and eager but I wonder will a more experienced side catch us out.

You might be expecting too much of the First Division there!
Derry are 3-0 on Bray, having scored twice since going down to ten men (that's Derry, not Bray)
Bray do look screwed already. Their manager can't last surely?
Meanwhile, Drogheda add another. And UCD take the lead.

OG puts Rovers ahead in what’s been a fairly poor game. Rovers with a lot of ball but little penetration or creativity.

How come SSEAirtricity website has 8 subs on Derry's lineup, and posted team sheet doesn't include Ben Doherty, who came on for Patterson???

Quite often in the early days iirc. After the "long whistle" I'll look at it.

Listening to the commentary of our game, sounded like we were very poor. Extremely disappointed to drop 2 points, should be winning these games.

Drogs 8-1 win is their biggest EVER league victory. (And probably cup as well). Don't remember them ever scoring 8 in game before.

You looked like you never really got going at all. We pressed high and stopped you from passing, and restricted you to fairly few chances really. Clarke made a really superb save in the first half, and another good save from a free kick right at the end, but you never really had that much smoothness at all, it was quite disjointed.
Delighted with the result, thought it was well deserved too. Cian Coleman was brilliant. Great to see such fight in the team even with the bad results.

Rarely seen a pats team have so little of the ball. Decent defence but very little going forward. Surprised Conan Byrne was taken off. Decent 3 points back it up now hopefully.

5 goals, 2 red cards, and our record goalscorer scoring a hat trick against us including an injury time winner. A good night out but it’s not easy..

Nice stylish goal by Connor Barry for Galway. Important win, but a very disjointed performance and team. Hope passing and understanding improves or we won't be staying at the top of the table for much longer. O and two more goals from Danny Furlong.

I’m sure it was tough on Waterford fans to lose it like that. However to be fair that was a decent display they gave up to half time.
In the second half though, apart from one or two counter attacks they were happy to sit and contain Dundalk. I will say one thing though, at least had a go in the first half, and at times they passed it about better than Cork did last Friday.
Pleasing to see Dundalk continue to keep it on the deck and to go wide into the 90th minute and beyond, totally deserved winner in the 93/94 minute.
