according to todays sun vinny is distraught at being released by us and may quit football at the age of 27.he has yet to agree a deal with pats and he revealed that he was" let go last monday week". vinny had lost nine kilos in weight during preseason and thought he had done enough especially when he went to spain with the lads.

i would say that vinny is going to quit football which is a pity really. :(

Shame about Vinny, his heart and soul was with playing for the Town, and i dont think his heart was into playing for Pats... a sad loss to the domestic game if he quits the game altogether, if he does i hope he remains a Town fan.

A reporter from the Star had gotten wind of this months ago ......
Pretty sure all they would've had to do was read this very forum to get it months ago.

He says he was only told the clubs decision after they got back from Spain. It would have made more sense to tell him earlier rather than letting him think there was a chance he would be retained.
Anyway - don't Jack it in yet Vinnie. As soon as you get back on the pitch with any team you will be flying again. New pastures and new challanges are nothing to a man with a great heart and a football brain. ;)

Could there not have been a chance though - I mean it could've depended on Keegan getting a loan deal in Scotland and freeing up some wages?

Anyway, hope to see Vinny get a contract, hopefully at Pats. If Prancer can get a contract out of them, surely Vinny is a no brainer....

i think it is a disgrace how matthews has treated vinny. he is a legend of this club something matthews is a long way from being. could alan not have acted in a fair manner and tell vinny straight up at the end of last season instead of stringing him along.he has done more for this club than anyone, the least he deserves is respect which im afraid was not afforded to him.

I can't be bothered either, except to say MATTHEWS OUT as he's done fook all for the club.
