Apparently.
Robbie Martin scored. Apparently!
any other info - annoy observer from here. Seems to have been at the match, though don't think he knows much more than the above! Still, seeing as I got the day wrong, it's better than me! :o :)
Ireland amateurs lost 3-2 to Rovers, so it's another encouraging result. Still keeping our three goals a game average going too!

Glad to hear. The match never appeared on Aertel for whatever reason. It's gonna be a massive step up against Shels though.

Especially with Tony Mac serving a suspension.... however newly assembled squads of players take a time to settle in a competitive environment ( and they have signed half a team) so a shock result however unlikely, is possible especially on the opening day of the season. Besides we play better against them in Tolka than we do at home in recent years! :p

Nut sure haven't we the might of Dundalk to come on Saturday as well?! :p
'Tis true about the friendly build-up...bit worried about it meself too. Think after Doolin brought the team off to Malta two years ago for no obvious benefit (losing the first eight games!) and at a decent cost, we must be scared off foreign trips for a while!
Still, the way I look at it is that we're expected to gain nothing from Shels, so even if we lose, we can treat that as our last pre-season game for the Drohgeda tie, when we should be up to speed. Drogs at home is a much more important match (in terms of points gainable) than Shels away.
How's the holidays going, CTID?!

Ah no, did you have to remind me? I had forgotten. Sure, it'll be all the sweeter when we turn them over.;)
Do they have any suspensions hanging over from last season?

Byrne, Crawley, Rowe (now gone to Pat's I think) and Crawford.
Still, they've plenty left over... :(

We'll just have to add another one, though I think you need a piece of their clothes and/or hair to pull it off (makes Doolo a tough target, him not usually wearing any clothes).

The voodoo did work on Crowe - he missed two penalties that season, remember? It was very well documented in the fanzine!

Did anyone figure out who scored the other goals?

Never heard anything else. Can't make today's game either - anyone else going? Maybe fill us in on the details?

I decided to watch the Ireland game. I'm probably not the only one. I'd say the scorers will be on Aertel this time though.
