Here’s a really interesting rumour I’ve heard during the last couple of days – expect an announcement about significant investment in the club by a Cork property developer (not related to George as far as I know ;) ) in the near future that will result in facilities (training or stadium?) being built.

The conspiracy theory part of this is that for the developer to make his move, Dolan had to be gone (no known reason for this, but when has logic been a strong feature with CCFC).

I can’t claim to have a cast iron source, but maybe someone else has heard something similar?

It would be cruelly ironic if it took Dolan’s departure to give the club the chance to move to the next level.

I suppose I’ll be lambasted for posting a rumour, but sure it’s only making conversation.

Well Georgie's "cousin" and "Grommit" would be compeditors so that could have been a stumbling block?

Not meaning to deliberately muddy the waters but at the time of Dolan's "departure" from Pats, there were two rumours going about:
1. That Wallace was prepared to knock €500k off the price of our new stand provided Dolan left
2. That Wallace was prepared to knock €500k off the price of our new stand provided Dolan stayed

As it turned out, for the €500k, he wanted control of the club so the offer was never explored.

I would say that people are a bit more wary of discounting rumours after the story about tensions between Lennox and PD turned out to be spot on.

FPB, the problem with the "rumours" that were being posted, was that I, and some others, were suspicious of the motives.
1. There was a definite campaign & agenda against Lennox under way a few weeks ago, particularly on the corkcity site, and people posted stuff there that they later found out to have been total lies and they had been "set up".
2. Some people couldn't wait to post their little bit of info, all of which was demoralising and damaging to the club. This is still going on, especially on the corkcity site.

I heard something along the lines of that rumour also - nothing specific but the same name and training facilities came up as apparently this person would have a suitable location as his disposal. Let's hope it comes to something.

I could donate one of my pitches for the lads to train on.

It's in great nick, goal areas are lush green, no dog s*** and you can train indoors or outdoors.

It is a subbuteo pitch though :D
