" The money is intended to be ring-fenced for youth development programmes and community schemes only and not to increase the first-team budget.
Only clubs that haven't participated in that year's Champions League or Europa League group stages are entitled to draw on the money, meaning Dundalk are excluded.
The money is distributed to the national associations, in the League of Ireland's case the FAI, who can decide how the money is distributed."
Interesting times. Would like to see it divided among all clubs, will see what happens though.

800k between 19 clubs would be just over 42k each. Be a huge boost to clubs struggling financially.

according to the article it says "top division clubs" so that would be 825,000 / 11 (as Dundalk played group stages)
Although it says FAI have discretion

I guess the first team budgets can still indirectly benefit from it, if clubs are using this money to run the underage teams and saving some of their own money that would have otherwise gone into the underage setup.

Doesn't the article say that the money is to go to the teams that didn't participate in European football? Wouldn't that increase the pay out to the remaining clubs?

Didn't compete in group stage of Europe so only Dundalk are excluded
I was wondering why it was to be divided by 11.
That's a disgrace Dundalk not included..................
This will be a welcome boost to our u15 and u19 teams, both of whom are doing very well at the moment.

Should go those clubs who were in the Premier at the start of the 2016/2017 European campaign I reckon.

As much as it'd hand extra money to Harps dividing it by 11, I think it would be much more beneficial to the league to divide it by all league clubs.

Should go to all clubs; there's enough of a divide between the First and Premier as it is.
But Solidarity payments happen every season - albeit not as bit - so there should be precedent as to how to split funds.
What are the odds it all goes to Shamrock Rovers?

€75,000 each for Premier Division clubs excluding Dundalk. Huge money that would help massively with the running of the underage squads for the season coming.
Huge money that will help us be alive for next season.

Is that fact or are you just hoping? would be massive money

It's presumably a reference to the percentage of debt repaid when Rovers exited examinership.

Well, that's the total figure divided by 11 Premier Division clubs that aren't Dundalk.
