Creating some half chances at least... Think Stu is right, more likely this finishes 4-1.

We would be better of playing Christie up front.

He is the new #damien Duff

This could be the hammering our performances have deserved for a while now unfortunately

Big trouble right now lads. And who wants to go to Qatar so its like 8 summers from now at best.

Getting shown up now. Just hoping this is as bad as it gets.

Being an Irish soccer fan is hard. Why can't we have nice things?

^Christ, I'll be nearly 40 then. Was 13 in 2002 :(

if you think about it though, Eriksen is by far the best player on either side and he is the one putting his team through. Sometimes you need class, vim and vigor and heart are not enough. We just don't have enough skill.

14/11/2017, 8:11 PM
Eriksen not the only one playing well. Those other Danish players are knocking the ball around fairly handily as well. Some of them play in the Danish league.

We need to stop being defeatist and assuming we can't play football.

It's been very easy for them, despite us going one up. The last time I've seen us play with such poor organisation was under Stan.

Long for Clark?

I'll call tactical bull**** here

KrisLetang

Things just A BUZZ right now on Twitter about this team...only for the strong of stomach. Some funny things too honestly.

If anyone can do it Long can.

He is due a few goals.

Quite right im afraid. The end for MON?

KrisLetang
14/11/2017, 8:15 PM
What was the point of giving MON a contract extension in October FFS? Makes no sense. Like there was some great job he could have left for.

We should have hired John Robertson as well. MON was the motivator at Celtic. Robertson was the tactical guru.

Can we please go out and get a young progressive manager...this guys bolt is shot, obvious at Villa and Sunderland and now here

Fair play to Denmark, I'd rather lose to a good team like this than a cheater like Henry.

Ireland should be proud, we did very well to beat Wales and get into the play-off.

Easy now. Hardly Ward's fault he was caught off balance.

The absolutely baffling substitutions practically threw the game. Having said that indefensible errors for all the Danish goals (ours was from an error too). And Shane Long still couldn't score in a brothel at the moment.

Very shambolic ending here, from that bizarre sub, to the fourth goal to the way the formation has just fallen to pieces. This is the end for MON.

This is pathetic, I know he's just signed a contract but I'd like the FAI to seriously consider O'Neill's future.

This is embarrassing now. We imploded as soon as they scored. Eriksson deserves to be at a World Cup on this showing....

He won't get anything like as much space at the World Cup. He'll be up against teams who might actually, heaven forbid, mark him.

KrisLetang
14/11/2017, 8:24 PM
That's what the millions on twitter are on about right now, marking Erik. Also a lot of people saying Ireland do not look nearly as fit as the Denny's. Meh.

Very much like that Germany game. MON might be kept on I suppose, but he won't live this down. Borrowed time.

Hopefully we can look back on this game in years to come and say that this was the watershed game when the Irish people said enough is enough and demanded an end to hoof ball. And it became the beginning of a brand of proper football.

Man the people in my office are starting to hoot at me. And i don't think its BC i am wearing my favorite shirt. I never should have guaranteed victory.

brine3

Of course they're not fit. They played in a match on Friday where they had 28% possession. You chase the ball for ninety minutes and you will tire out.

Really time to invest in young blood, even if they are playing reserve ball or lower division ball...guys with potential and actually have a style of play marrying our physical characteristics with a little bit of organisation, clearly this long ball stuff (poorly executed) does not suit the players we have

KrisLetang

Statement from FAI:
In Protest of Russia's obvious meddling in the US election, we have decided our participation in the World Cup this coming summer would be inappropriate. We have chosen to make this clear at this exact time.

Sadly I rest my case, I did call this result in an earlier post on here.

Poor Irish team/squad, the likes of Clark, Christie are an embarrassment to international football.
ONeill is clueless tactically and is a spent force.

Totally outclassed and out thought!

Oh for the days of Keane, Duff, Dunne, St Ledger, OShea......

14/11/2017, 8:37 PM
When Bendtner gets on the scoresheet, you know you deserve to lose.

Puke from start to finish, chronic defending, breezed past in midfield, impotent up front. Truly awful, we'd no business at the World Cup anyway. Really poor qualifying campaign.

The good news anyway is MON and Keane will lead us into the Euro 2020 qualifiers.

I thought it was brave at the time but that double sub at half time was an absolute disaster.
