Seems to have had another very good outing in the Checktrade Trophy tonight in the derby Vs Cambridge Utd & is credited with several fine saves.

So after several good outings in the lesser competitions, he took the keeper spot for a league points game for the first time yesterday, he's in the side.

Bad outing for him yesterday in Rochdale.

Bad outing for him yesterday in Rochdale.

When I read that, I had visions of Darren Randolph's 8-goal nightmare a few years ago, so 2-0 isn't catastrophic - he could do with a couple of wins soon, though, if he wants to keep his place - nice to see that we now have two young 'keepers playing in League One.

Both seem to have bags of potential too. O'Malley appears to have ousted Jonathan Bond who has England under 21 caps to his name.

We have been on about Lawlor for so long. Amazing to think he's only 23.

Both could really push on.

Dropped for tonights game away to Charlton.

Chris Forrester back into the starting team though.

As we are presently casting a wide net in goalkeeping terms, worth a mention that O'Malley retook the goalie spot for Peterborough's game today, which they drew and the point moved them back into the last Championship p/o position. Let's see if he holds the shirt this time.

Started again today in the 1-1 away at Rotherham, reports credit him with several fine stops including a first half one on one V Anthony Forde.
Friend of mine was there, said he did look good but will need to tidy up his kicking.
The away point was not enough to hold the final play off spot due to Plymouth winning, helped by two from Graham Carey.

Played again in the 2-0 derby win over Northampton on Monday, clean sheet and an important save at 0-0, the win took his side up to fifth, but Plymouth / Scunthorpe being postponed had a lot to do with that as well. Next up is Graham Careys Plymouth on Saturday away, huge game in the play off scrap in L1 where one point separates fifth from ninth.

Only eleven players make the new Peterborough managers retained list and O'Malley is one. Good lad.

Got a chance tonight, in the FA Cup replay V Bradford City, rarely seen this season due to an injury and the new manager bringing in his own keeper.
Let four in during the game, in a four all draw, but saved three penalties in the following shoot out while a lad who scored a hat trick in normal time, of course missed his penalty. His club will now play Middlesbrough in the third round.

Just saw the highlights there. He was all over the shop for three of the four goals during the game itself. Didn't we have another keeper who did something very similar recently, saved a few in the shootout after having a ropy enough match?

Yeah, that is his fourth, (I think) time getting in, but not holding the spot.

Back in again tonight V Bristol, and under a new manager again at Peterborough, but Darren Ferguson has been manager of the club twice previously also, in the kind of circling merry go round that makes the LOI look a well managed, strategy led competent thing.

He was beaten twice, once by a pen and lobbed once after a shot was blocked, in a 2-2 away draw.

EDIT - Just seen it, he was actually lobbed after he got caught in two minds, twice, about coming off his line, no covering player covered themselves in glory but he didn't either.

His performances certainly don’t seem to explain Crafty’s stalking of the poor guy.

Sort of like Piagluca in the Italian goal when Houghton lobbed him?

For this weeks entertainment, he threw the ball out of play so a player could get treatment, but hadn't realised the player was already off the pitch, so Doncaster took the throw, played on, worked it to our own Kieran Sadlier who promptly fired past O'Malley to kill the game and claim his first goal back in UK ball. He had been fine up to that. His defence all switched off too to be fair, collective brain fart.

Cracking finish (https://youtu.be/T-DJYnGEP5M?t=104) from Sadlier all the same!

Has been in the side every week since Ferguson came back as manager, but Saturday he had another careless hands moment, dropped a cross which cost a goal, they won 4-2 but another big twitch.

It's like when Mark O'Brien or Tommie Hoban's threads are bumped, but instead of an injury we have news of another mistake. :)
