Its an interesting idea and sounds like great fun! How does the fundraising aspect happen, sponsorship? Is it the same bunch of lads round every ground or is there a cheat by having a Galwiegan living in Dundalk kick a ball round Oriel while others do the same in Dublin etc ;p Without the detail it'd be great to have all involved back in ED Park for a quick kick around prior to a home league game. What would be a good, though not really a fundraiser would be to have a Galway fan in each Premier League ground on one Friday night so last set of fixtures of the season and the pics of each posted up. We should start a supporter loan gag system...
Must have a compuslory pint in the Lilywhite Lounge and maybe even with advance notice ye might have cocktail sausages and sandwiches before moving on to United Park (all food and drink must be consumed on the lovely surroundings of the away terrace...)

36 players with two squads of 18 playing 10 minutes games in each ground in the league, within 24 hours. Each player commits to raising €500.

I can imagine them turning up somewhere like United Park and being forgotten about and left standing outside a locked stadium.

In fairness all the clubs have been cooperative and supportive of this its professionally orgainised with a lead vehicle travelling in advance to make sure all's well

Is there a timeline available? Is it possible for people to watch the games and donate money there?

I don't have the full schedule to hand.
Easiest way to donate is through the website. http://gufc-coop.com/loi-dash/ Pick someone who hasn't raised the full €500 as yet and give them the donation.

Some great videos overnight from around the grounds on the Galway Bay FM Sports Facebook page. Sounds like the lads have had great support from all the clubs.

Been keeping an eye on it alright. Was planning to get up to Ballybofey to catch them, but unfortunately, they arrived at Finn Park around half 5, at the same time the under-15s were playing their league semi final against Athlone in Letterkenny.

Was brilliantly put together didn’t get down to CCS to see them sadly but was really impressed with their social media and marketing game, few clubs could learn from the lads, hope they raised a decent sum.

Oh my legs are mangled. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us! The league of Ireland community is just unreal.
We have raised €17,000 after costs already and you can still donate http://gufc-coop.com/campaigns/loi-dash-tommy-shields/ . We expect to raise another substantial sum before we wrap it all up.
Some craic with a great bunch of people who have one love supreme gufc and it’s now owned by the fans 100% .

Finn Park was in darkness when they arrived. About 99% of the club officials were down in Letterkenny at Harps under-15s national semi final against Athlone Town which kicked off at 5pm.
Haven't heard any reason or excuse as to why Galway fans were left out in the dark though.

We got into Finn Park and got on the pitch in darkness.we got the stand lights on but it wasn’t enough to illuminate the pitch so for health and safety reasons we passed the ball around and a few took a peno and we headed off again. Still got on the pitch and what not so won’t complain

I suppose it is perfectly reasonable to have a dig at those clubs who did not meet your expectations or give you value for money.
I hope you get a refund.

You're lucky Finn Park wasn't in the middle of a match that was scheduled to be played there at the time you arrived though.

Every Club had been in contact weeks in advance and up to the day of departure and time of arrival was agreed well in advance and confirmed with club reps on an hourly basis before arrival 👍

But the draw for the under-15s semi-final wasn't done until about two weeks ago.
If there were hourly updates, how was anyone left out in the dark?
