Hot and cold, per a Drog-supporting mate. His attitude tends to stink at times even though it's clear he has some serious ability.

Good to see Scully and Flanagan are still in there too. Not sure who number 15 is but he could use a bit of physical development to get ready for senior ball surely.

Excellent results against a team that reached the semi-finals this year - we narrowly missed out on qualification last time out so a good run this year would be a good indication of progress being made at underage level

I thought Rian O'Sullivan was a full back?

It's a strong looking starting XI

I had hoped to make one of the games, but the only one I would be able to is the Cyprus one, and I'm at the Leinster - Munster game that night!

Looks strong. Interesting that obafemi and afolabi couldn't make the under 17 squad in May but 4 months later are in the under 19 squad. Surprised Connolly not in from Brighton maybe injured. No Deccan rice I assume he will be with the 21s. Is mccauley been punished for throwing toys out of pram for the 17s? Other lads like Conor Coventry at west ham and Jack Clark at villa ayoola at stoke have played 23s football this season and are eligible so it looks a strong group. Hopefully do well

That John Martin at Waterford is supposed to be a right prospect. Linked with sides across the water and may already have been on trial. He's a Kilkenny lad at Waterford. That's gone well before...

So... a 0-0 draw with Carroll sent off late on for a second yellow.

That's some forward line. Especially if Flanagan can't get in. O'Sullivan must be good if they're exposing him to senior football at Brighton already. Scully and O'Connor seem to be excellent prospects. A Drog-supporting pal of mine hasnt been impressed with Byrne's attitude and willingness to show flashes of brilliance as opposed to consistent brilliance when his team were up against it this season. Question marks over his off-field behaviour too.

Considering it was 2nd seed v 3rd seed in the group, and 2 qualify from group it's not all doom and gloom. We need to beat Cyprus by 2+ to put pressure on the Azerbaijanis.

Bloody hell. Molumby isn't necessarily an attacking midfielder is he?

That team looks very strong for that level. And there are plenty more eligible, Doyle-Hayes I think. We could have a player on our hands in Molumby. Looking forward to seeing him play.

And I have only no noticed that there were a lot of changes from the other day. There is serious strength in depth there.

And the squad is a lot less reliant on English-born players than the under 21 squad.

Finished 5-0, another goal for Afolabi in the second half.

I think this is the in between group at 17s who didn't qualify for the 17s.. The first group Was The masterson group who just missed out last season on qualifying for the 19s euros and the other 17 s group was last seasons glen mccauley group who are really under 18s this season which would be o Connor at Utd and afolabi And bolger from last nights Nites team. Molumpy Thomas o Connor and Wilson's age group never qualified for nothin

Means Spain, Portugal and Germany are possibilities though. I'd prefer to be in pot one than pot two.

Tough group, Portugal were given a bye to this round as a top seed. Winners go through to the finals in the summer.

Might be an idea to post the tough group :)

The Elite Round games will start on March 21 when Ireland take on Slovakia before coming up against Kosovo (March 24) and Portugal (March 27)

As Keane would say, just hit em early and we'll be fine

http://www.fai.ie/ireland/news/u19-squad-named-for-double-header. Squad for friendlies. Lots and lots of lads you would expect to be involved not included so seems experimental. Dunne from falkirk is new think he played for Scotland previously. The Rangers lad is in. Didn't realise mckenna was on loan at bray for season. Just so we can freak out rice and obafemi are not included(im sure it has nothing to do with them been involved with their first team squads at their clubs it's because they are leaving us the *******s!)

I'm sure he could only friendlies. Crowley Ronan and okoflex have played for us and the brits in very close proximity. Hopefully the games are at ibrox he should play score and then whip off the shorts to reveal a tricolour tattooed on his arse. Do it young man
