I thought there was a thread for this already but I can't seem to find it. If any mods care to merge, I might have missed it.

Harps home tie with Cork City due to be played next Friday night has been postponed with a date to be confirmed.

Harps v Derry due to be played two weeks ago has been rearranged for Monday week 24th July with an 8pm kick off.

Can't make up my mind on this one, will there be a decent crowd with the holiday season esp in Derry, or will it mean loads of usual fans abroad and wont make it. I think you might be ok with a good crowd, big game for Harps to try and get further away from danger, locals should turn out in numbers.

Is there any way of getting a ticket for this online? I must go to Donegal for work next week and might try to work it in. Could it sell out?

I'm not sure to be honest but you could book a ticket over the phone from Balor Arts Centre box office.

I can't see it selling out either on a Monday night. Probably 3,000 max there.

Thanks Nigel. Looks like I won't make it up until Tuesday now anyway unfortunately.

Limerick vs Harps also changed from Saturday 2nd September to Friday 1st September.

A lot of Harps fans were targeting that as a big away trip. Unfortunate now away numbers will be probably cut down to 15 or 20.

Ireland game kicks off at 5pm that day, and it's away in Georgia. Can't understand why this game couldn't go ahead for 8pm in Limerick.

We have to be indoors by then. Community curfew.

I ended up making this in the end. Disappointing result for ye but a really enjoyable experience I must say. I wasn't a LOI virgin or anything, was at a fair few Cork games over the years, but it felt different being so far from home, relatively speaking.

Derry City's games against Drogheda on 3rd September and against Cork on 7th October are postponed due to our international call-ups.

We know have three weeks off. Rumours of a friendly against Bohs next weekend.

No word, but getting announced today. According to Shiels, there's five of them.

Are Cork due to play Limerick on Saturday 23 Sept and then again the following Monday 25 Sept against Dundalk? why such a short gap?

Talks that rte want to show the game that night and that the Limerick game will be moved to the Friday to accommodate. RTE are due to compensate all involved*

*Obviously that is a sick joke and no-one will be compensated in any way.

And sure as night follows day, Derry City have decided to switch matchdays again. Not that it's been announced by the club, mind, but rather by journalists.

We're back to Friday nights for the visits of Bray, Harps and Pats.
No confirmation yet, but that postponed game against Drogheda is pencilled in for Friday 29th September.

Just for the record, so far this season we've gone from Sundays, to Fridays, to Sundays, and now back to Fridays. Nice touch giving Bray fans eight days notice of the switch too.

I think we can all safely say Derry are a joke and should be kicked out of the league now. A disgrace. 30 point deduction on the way.

Drogheda must be fancying their chances now.

Would a couple of hours make that much difference?

Would a couple of hours make that much difference?

Donegal League have two divisions of Saturday football.
Attendance will be hit because more people will simply choose to watch at home like the Cork game.

We also lose the entire gantry side of the ground to TV crew. The only decent toilet block, away area, and club shop all closed off.

TV takes the bottom end of the main stand as their 'studio' area too, so we can't even use that as an alternative away section. If 100 Dundalk fans come up, we've nowhere to put them.

I give you Premier Division licensing in all its Glory.

We'll cordon off either a section of the Town End Terrace or main stand if we need segregation at all. Space will not, sadly, be anything resembling an issue.

Why would they even want to televise this fixture? Why not Cork's game next weekend?

Mr A
29/09/2017, 2:21 PM
My guess is that they are contracted to cover x number of games and are very short on interesting ones. After all, if we win we hand the title to Cork. Which could happen if for some reason Dundalk crash the bus or something.
