It does work and works very well on slow connections from what I've seen of it.
There's a license fee which I think has to be renewed each year.
It is legit and if you can get a trial version, give it a whirl.

I got a copy. Speeds your connection up dramatically if you're trying to access a page with loads of images, it works on compression, so quality of images will be poor.

Cost about 40 Euro, but I think its worth it.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but just got dial up in at home (as IT lock down in work  ) and remembered seeing something on here before...

Anyway, anyone actually using it? wws - how did someone there get on with it?

Seems to have mixed reviews on boards, but that seems to be in terms of mp3 and jpegs. Most of my surfing would be message boards anyway, and the naysayers seem to suggest that it works well for text.

heres the link anyway, I'd be grateful for any further opinions.... http://www.onspeed.com/ie/index.php
