Just wondering what everybody thinks on where GUFC will finish come the end of the season and what are the possibilities of silverware?

As with all supporters, they expect to see there team improve from the season before and think this is the year we will be in with a chance of winning both the league and a cup of some sort league/fai. But instead of thinking with the heart, what does the head think?

Me, I think we could finish up this year the same as last year, one or two places off the promotion spot. Why? Who have we brought in to replace Dupuy? NOBODY! Moran is good but we need at least 2 prolific goalscorers if we want to get promoted. We have strenghened our defence, which was a worry last season, with the inclusion of Kelly, Cleary and Syzmanski. In midfield we will have a full strength Russell back, and one or two players coming up from the under 21's i.e. Cooke, Coleman, Lee, Curran and Murphy could make it in at some stage BUT WE NEED THAT OTHER STRIKER UNITED!!!!!!

HERE WE GO SO:

LEAGUE: 3RD :(
LEAGUE CUP: Q/FINALS :(
FAI CUP: Q/FINALS :(

I forgot that! replace him with his brother then!

He is on the recovery path though. Came through his operation well!

Urgently Required a decent striker to partner Barry, and somebody decent to partner Russell, otherwise it will be same as last season! If midfield let us down so badly last season what makes them think the same players will be good enough this year? Midfield has been complete crap in the game and a half so far this season and if Stephen Lallys comments in the advertiser on how good midfield was are true then he is going to be no asset to the club as manager.

Just read there on our official site that the club are in discussions with Conor. :)

Yea i saw that too galway girl but the problem is that conor isnt that good, we have nigel keady ronan frawley and billy clery, as far as i can see he should be on the fringes, and i would agree he can get up well, but hes too slow for el, and to clumsy, good 4 backup, nothing else though.....

Well everyone is entitled to their own opinion Vinny. Personally, i'd pick Conor before Ronan any day...

I'd prefer Conor over Ronan any day, even though the younger sibling is exceedingly well named.

Conor offers more leadership on the field, and tends not to disappear at away games, an affliction which affects many of our stars. Our away form over the past two seasons has been appalling. This is main reason for our extended stay in "The Championship".
