what teams exactly? i think i heard glenthorn were doing it at the end of last season, i think it was them anyway. AUL unfortunately is in decline and not what it was in the past. Hoping the 5 subs will attract more players and make it more competitive.

Too many clubs in the same areas all competing for the same players in the AUL, with exception of country teams. Then you have MSL (Senior/Junior) Clubs in these areas too . The sooner Cork goes to one junior section (MSL junior and AUL amalgamation) the better . But those dinosaur clowns in the AUL wont allow that happen . Miss out on their free gatts then if that happened. Cant be losing the free gatts ;)

Some clubs can barely support an A team let alone a B team . Hearing a few clubs could be gone altogether.

Have to agree change needed a long time ago the aul will be down in 3 leagues in 5 years as the player numbers seem to be dropping unless you have a youth structure behind you . Park making the right move jumping ship good structure behind them

I agree a unified league would benefit all clubs its hard to see how it could happen do, lets be honest can you imagine the MSL agreeing sure they are laughing they don't have to deal with new clubs forming and dropping out they only take the very well established clubs, every club wants to become senior someday so if you cant do it in the AUL the there's only one place to go. Can someone tell me do why the AUL hasn't said well if the MSL have a junior league then well we will have a senior and make prem and prem A senior and the rest junior. Surely that would stop clubs from wanting to leave once it settled into peoples heads and can you imagine the turmoil it would cause in the munster senior cup and fai intermediate cup.

Early days lads but Pearse Celtic look a great shout for the Prem this upcoming season. Added another quality player in Ben Hamblin and they weren't exactly far off last season. Fully fit squad, no Park this year. Them and Grattan should be the two runaways as things stand?

Best of luck to them, after Davey said no and Minty never showed up they're a very good appointment. Keith knows all the lads well, Walshy is straight shooting as they come.

Personally i think the shine is gone off winning an Aul league medal these days, of the 10 or so premier teams not 1 of them would come close to competing premier 10 or 15 years ago. Standards have been let slip and this is seen in fellas attitudes towards games and training. Its a lot easier to win a prem or prem a league than it is to win an AOH, that would personally be my aim

I'd agree that the shine is gone off winning the league medals but I wouldn't blame that on the players, to be fair.

Most of the well-run football clubs in the Cork AUL have already jumped ship to the MSL.
There are only a handful of clubs left in the AUL with any underage structure and its only a matter of time before they jump ship too.

I had a quick look at the MSL tables and I can remember all of the following clubs having a presence in the AUL at some stage over the last 15 or so years. I don't see any of them coming back to play in the AUL anytime soon.

There's 2, Dean Cummins the goalkeeper and Spud. Jamie Dunne was there but he has since left, will prob sign back with Bohs or Knocka.
Ringmahon have had an excellent summer!

Pa long is with glenthorn along with one or two more . Great player he is alright .
Glen are gone so along with Dillon cross.
From what I see training even though it's early days . 3 or 4 teams around have poor numbers. 10 or so at the start of the pre season isn't a good sign .a Few years ago
Most teams have 20 maybe more at the start of pre season

Glen Celtic gone out of football is a joke!! What were the committee up there doin at all? Didn't hear that Dillons Cross were gone . They struggled the last two seasons so not surprised either.
What particular teams are you saying are struggaling for numbers?

The way the AUL is going it just be 4 straight up/straight down leagues . Just one division at each level then . Might not be a bad thing

Great point, no point having oceans of teams if half give walkovers/lose 4,5,6 nil every week.

Lads, Knocka Celtic are putting some side together. Robbie Healy now has joined them aswell, they will be right in the mix this year!

Robbie is a good player but throws his toys out of the pram very easy . I hear he don't like to train and if he don't play he will probably slither back to bohs with he tail between his legs

Robbie is a fine player, effortless. Thought he'd make the step up Senior this year but not to be, your comment about training may have something to do with that, I know he worked last year and couldn't actually physically make training? We'll have to wait and see I suppose!

Usually Hoey will end up back out in Whitechurch when push comes to shove . He does da same thing every year . He played aloada friendlies last year with AUL teams . Maybe packin in the Ireland team might change that? Maybe he will play AUL

Heard his buddy is knocka manager and rockmount havent brought in much he might actually move on this time. Played with ross gareth and gazza aswell so it wouldnt shock me anyway. Heard the street are gone fella involved with them said theyve ran out of players to ask to sign. Another good club gone.

The aul should look to bring you on board u could help stop the ship from sinking. Theres 40+ players between grattan and knocka i reckon come last week of august therell be some exodous from both those clubs.

Thank you for the vote of confidence even if you were trying to be a smartass . There is nothing can stop the AUL ship from sinking . Clubs blaming the AUL . AUL blaming the clubs . As for the 40 plus players between both clubs it will be grand for pre season but you are right they fellas not getting a game will jump ship at end of August

Not trying to be smart at all. You seem to have a few ideas and a broad knowledge of both senior and junior football. See all these clubs survived no problem for years so what has really changed? Heard bohs are in real trouble aswell even castleview seniors are struggling. Cork football is an absolute shambles imo.

This is exactly why the likes of Park have been so successful. Only one team down there and they all pull together and fight for the jersey. Too many teams in Cork, especially across the north side. Players have their pick of what club they want, they don't like it and they can go elsewhere. Talent gets diluted and diluted until 2nd team players become 1st team players and they start getting hammered week in week out. No one wants that. Too many AUL leagues doesn't help either. What is it? 7 leagues? Teams get promoted when they don't want to and don't go up when they do.

Met a manager the other day, said a player said he would sign if he got work. He got him work, the player signed for another club. Zero loyalty. Nothing would surprise you.
