Mahon the kit-man

UCD manager Pete Mahon is never one to rest on his laurels and this pre-season is no exception.

While he takes an interest in the scholarship scheme and inter-collegiate matches, this week he, surely, went beyond the call of his contract when he took the role of kit-man at the Harding Cup. He may have proved to be a lucky charm as UCD won the competition.

On Thursday, he was at UCD's scholarship trials looking to unearth some stars for the upcoming Premier Division season. If all else fails he may well don the kit-man jacket again.

A slow news day from today's indo.

Who is the Harding Cup named after?

I understand the FAI U21 Dr. Tony O'Neill Perpetual (emotianal) Trophy is ours alone this year. But does anyone know who the other trophy is named after?

Mullet hope to see you around next season?

What does Pete Mahon do for a living? I know he's not a full-time manager, yet he gets time to go to the Harding Cup to be kit-man? Is he part-time or retired or something?
