McCaul elected chairman of eircom League
At today's eircom League AGM, Paddy McCaul was elected chairman of the eircom League.

A number of rule changes were effected at the meeting, including an amendment of Rule 11.1 which now allows for the election of an interim Treasurer.

At the opening Management Committee Meeting (MCM) of the 2005 season (which took place following the AGM) the following were elected to the board of control for the coming year:

1. Eamon Naughton, Galway United
2. Donald Keogh, Longford Town
3. Caroline Rhatigan, Kilkenny City
4. Alan Duncan, Shamrock Rovers
5. John McNulty, Finn Harps
6. Eddie Murray, Monaghan United
7. Jim Murphy, Cork City
8. Paddy Martin, Drogheda United
9. Jack O'Neill, Bray Wanderers

There is one vacancy on the board at present. This will be filled following an election at an EGM which will take place on Monday, March 14. An election for the position of treasurer will also take place at the EGM.

The eircom League Cup rules, format and fixtures - in addition to disciplinary procedures for the 2005 season - will also be agreed at the EGM.

Billy Young was affirmed as chairman of the Independent tribunal. Michael Hyland was nominated as the new Chairman of the FAI Disciplinary Commission, Charlie Cahill was nominated as the FAI nominee on the commission while Arnold O'Byrne was nominated as the League nominee.

Gerard Horkan (UCD) was nominated to be the League's representative on the Leinster FA while Jim Murphy (Cork City) was nominated to be the League's representative on the FAI Youths Committee.
