I'd say the Athlone fc overlords hired an effective crew which at least grabbed the right files, unlike the gang who broke into the Irish horse federation offices to steal the files on that drugged Olympian horse, but exited the premises with the wrong horse files.
Botched jobs cheapen our sense of ethnic pride.

Individuals involved in Athlone Town have sent numerous solicitor letters to I believe 3 supporters trying to sue them for defamation.
Word has it another letter has been sent to Cork manager John Caulfield.
Absolute lowlifes involved with that piece of dirt club.

It would be pure #GreatestLeagueInTheWorld if Athlone of all clubs managed to derails Cork's title charge.

Why would a letter be sent to John Caulfield?
Have I missed anything

That's the only reason I can think of.
Even the stuff they went after the fans for was laughable.

He publically backed the "Consortium" to take over the club, that's all. All a bit desperate from the current regime. They have better things to be worrying about.

It would not be a strange step to take if the people involved believed that they were defamed and sought to warn the 3 people about the possibility of litigation if they continued the alleged defamation

The Athlone affair is a complete joke.
Solicitors letters  Didn't know Tommy No Bobs had moved to Athlone.
Some people will try anything to hide their involvement.

Those bastions of truth the FAI will get to the bottom of it though.
Delaney & his cronies are looking into the matter to see if there's anything in it for them

I wonder how Athlone will fare on the "bleak" scale. "Is not", or "very"?

Hard to read with the Google translate job, what's the story with this AGM? Are we really going to see orderly regime change?

Only paid members can attend. 250 euro for membership. And they will have a load of drafted in members so no point in anyone even trying.
I have never seen anything like this before. Athlone Town fc is dead. Not the same club anymore.

I don't speak German, but, if it's any use, here's the original article in German: http://www.spiegel.de/spiegel/wie-die-asiatische-wettmafia-den-fussball-in-europa-manipuliert-a-1153624.html

There a German video report here too: http://www.spiegel.de/video/athlone-town-fc-club-irland-gekauft-wettmanipulation-video-1776287.html

“That is totally unacceptable. It invites the question: ‘What reasons do you have not to tell me who the investors are?’ I would go a bit further. Why does the league not have regulations to make that compulsory, to be fully transparent about who owns the club or who are the main shareholders?

Somebody should tell him that the clubs do not even have access to what their own league generates in revenue, and the least transparent organisation in the country after AGS is the FAI!

Any sign of this report yet? I see Roddy is in the market for 10 players.

Not that I have heard. Hopefully in next few days if not already out. Legal discussions were almost finished last week apparently.
