Manchester United - Born & Bred in Manchester. Don't believe the hype, Manchester is Red. Only the freaks in school supported siddy.

Longford Town - Where my old man is from, natural choice when I moved "home". First games back in the 80's in Abbeycartron when we were over on holiday.

Clubs I look out for rather than support - Altrincham FC (used to go a fair bit in my younger days - alternate weeks for home games with United usually). Bury FC and Bradford City (used to go with a few of the lads in college when no United game clashing). Kinda good to go, have a few beers, enjoy the game and not really care about the result. Bradford I especially enjoyed - they really hate leeds!

Rovers-my dad brought me to my fisrt game when i was 10, 25/3/94 v shels. then i started going regularly about 13 years old.round end of 96/97 season
teams i look out for
Celtic:irish history
Napoli:maradona and crazy fans. averaging 40,000 in serie C1 B.saw them play in san paolo stadium last season.
Barcelona:saw them in the Barcelona derby v rcd espanyol some years ago. Rivaldo scored 2 and kluivert got one.like their history.like the no-sponsors on shirts too though that trait will soon be history
Boca Juniors: looked out for their results ever since Maradona rejoined in 1995.i remember watching a clip around that time on tv of Boca fans going mental after Diego was sent off, and the fire brigade had to be called in to hose the fans back after they tried to climb over the 30ft fences at the front of the terraces. crazy fans
panathinaikos:good crest,good colors.good fans.links with Rovers ultras
cliftonville: one of the few nationalist teams in the IL. saw them last year v linfield, good trip with about 80 Rovers fans running amok

as much as i like to look out for other teams and wish them wel, id never compromise Rovers for anyone else. i Love Rovers. i like those clubs.big difference

Oxford-my parents from there and my family team, I guess

Limerick-felt guilty about calling myself a football fan, while not watching my local team. so started two years ago and haven't looked back.

blackburn cz kevin moran played with them at the time.he was just pure heart on his sleave stuff be it GAA or soccer.the sight of him running down the pitch in croke park with a bloody bandage showed it all even though he was in a sky blue jersey

barcelona as well because of the history and the fans.and the catalans are a bit like us in the way they look at the catalonia as a republic.here we have the PROC.

Off topic but this is exactly the reason most Cork people choose club (Cork) over country. Most Dubs think of the likes of Duff and Keane as Irish but Keane and Irwin are Corkmen to the Cork people. Cork means so much more to Cork people than Dublin does to Dubs.

it might also be because cork is much smaller and personal.Dublin is impersonal in comparison.in cork you can't walk down a street without bumping into someone you know.etc

Identify? You cant Identify with the way they play or do you have to like a player for the person he is? Fair enough if its your favourite band, Id obviously identify with a Dublin band before a Cork band because of the lyrics and style but with football? Thats a bit odd!
What I mean is, I see City players around the place all the time, you can see irish rugby players, or GAA players around the place too. When do you ever see players from the ROI team around the place? they're living in a different country, and on a different planet: money, celebrity status etc
