No real surprise.
They've had a poor start to the season, and with 3 teams going down this year - and the teams everyone would've identified for that doing well so far - there'll be a lot of Boards making swift decisions if they think they're at risk of the drop.

Robertson seriously overachieved last season, Sligo didn't look particularly great last season and still ended up 5th, was never going to keep that up again this season which stronger competition around them

He's just been quoted as saying they'd be mad to consider him and there are far better managers out there.
Weakened the squad in the off season. What's more he tends not to start the players he did recruit which tells you a lot.
Think he had to go but its not nice to see a man lose his job.

Who ever comes in has a big job on their hands. Back 4 is very poor. Only stand out players are Sadlier and Cretaro. Big recruitment needed in July

Not surprised at all.
Sligo were going nowhere under him.
Bring back Baraclough.

He is no loss to Sligo or to the League.
If Seannie can get a chauffeur he would be perfect for a return

reminds me of a certain ex manager of ours! Baraclough,Mickey Adams and Sean Connor linked with the job. I thought Sean is in prison?
I can't help thinking Sligo are the architects of their own misfortune in all of this. Barraclough had just won the Setanta cup (beat us) and because they were not challenging to win the league he was sacked mid season in 2015. He won their first title in a generation in 2012 (last one was 1977) and the league position wasn't deemed good enough in mid season when they let him go. How is that looking now?
Sligo are a fine club with a superb ground and decent set up, but appointing Robertson was a dreadful mistake, he was a terrible manager and had that cocky attitude to go with it. He won't be missed from the league.

Robertson was a mistake but the process that got him in as manager was the same process that got Barraclough in. Its how we have done things for a long while now, sometimes it works and sometimes it dosent. It wont be the LOI merry-go-round for the new manager either from the names Im hearing.
I was a huge admirer of Baraclough and although there was an argument to give him until the end of the season it was probably time he moved on ... stuff behind the seasons.
Nah Nah Nah Nah

Baraclough had a few issues with the board and if we hadn't won the cup in 2013 it's doubtful his contract would have been renewed. Unfortunate that they were having these issues but these things happen.
Robertson, like pretty much every manager we appoint, was a gamble. Did well to get us to fifth last season but squad deteriorated in quality this season and it was probably the right decision in the end to get rid of him. Plenty of the fans never took to him which certainly didn't help his cause.
