Reading news about Athlone in the off-season has been like reading reports from the WWE.

Any of the Bray lads know why they were told to switch game to Abbotstown.

Not yet, but apparently, a number of friendly matches this past weekend were played in a similar fashion, i.e. behind closed doors. Pats & Cabinteely has been mentioned, also Harps and Derry. There was some suggestion it was connected to the Referees' meeting at the weekend, but even behind CD they could hardly play without officials? And it seems Bray may have been told to move it (a) from Friday to Sunday, and (b) from the Carlisle to Abbotstown.
In sum, haven't a notion why all that happened!
