Bit of a new name but Shane McLaughlin was on the bench for Ipswich today (along with Adam McDonnell). He's a 19 year-old striker from Kerry and I think his last involvement with Ireland was at under 18 level. Has been playing quite regularly for Ipswich under 23 side. Can't find statistics on his goal scoring record with the side anywhere though.

How lazy of you, looking for ready-made "statistics". I went through the match reports from the Ipswich website and actually assembled the statistics for the good people here at foot.ie. Anyways, he's got 4 goals in about 16 appearances (some reports didn't have team listings). However he's in a bit of a drought, not having scored in his last nine. Nice to see he's been noticed by Mick anyway and hopefully this will lead to a first-team opportunity in the not-too-distant future. If he starts scoring again, we can add him to the list of potential young strikers for the medium-term which by my reckoning would then amount to four: McLoughlin, Ronan Hale at Birmingham, Gerry McDonagh on loan at Wrexham from Nottingham Forest and Glen McAuley at Liverpool.

Haha good man yourself. Appreciated. So he started the season with 4 in 7? Impressive enough.

No worries. Yeah, at the four in seven point I started to get a little excited before the next nine went by without an extra goal. But hopefully he can get back on the scoring trail soon. Oh BTW his last name is spelt McLOughlin. I don't know how to fix that in the thread title.

Gone on loan to AFC Wimbledon, so he's a shoe-in for an FA Cup medal now: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/47072363

McLoughlin's signed for AFC Wimbledon, it's Folivi who's there on loan.
They're adrift at the bottom of the table in league one, might be signing him as one for the promotion challenge next season
