Irish under 19 player made his debut for Birmingham yesterday coming on as a 74th minute sub. He is mainly a central midfield player but can also play right back and right midfield. Hopefully the first of many appearances.

Rowett, his manager, gone tonight at the behest of the new purse masters with the side seventh in the table.

Back into the squad as an unused sub as Birmingham went down to yet another defeat - good that he's in Zola's thoughts at least

Being in Zola's thoughts might not be a good thing at this point.

Thought he played really well against Liverpool. He was up against Ngumoha and Wirtz and handled them as well as possible and also offered a lot going forward. Allie Mccoist was very positive on him too. Definitely looks like a good championship player rather than a league 1 player. At 27, his time has probably passed but he looked good.

Real shame that Luca Connell was suspended - would have been great to see how he handled the challenge.

McGoldrick came off the bench and almost scored and also mugged Szoboszlai by the corner flag.

Ireland eligible (current NI international) Patrick Kelly made a cameo off the bench alongside Eoghan O’Connell.

Reyes Cleary was excellent and won MOTM - makes sense why Farrugia has struggled for game time and is on his way to the SPL.

As for Hourihane, I think Barnsley deserved a penalty at 2-1, so in many respects he was very unlucky and despite the two late goals, he did a good job. I might have a future.
