Steve Carr out?

I was watchin the 6:01 news on RTE earlier and it reported that Carr is out of Wednesday's game with a recurring knee injury. Is this just a precaution (like Roy Keane) or is Carr actually injured again. Would be bad news if he is injured indefinitely.

is it just me or was Carr not rushed back from injury very quickly? At one stage they were suggesting he might be out for months, then suddenly he's back- maybe something to do with newcastle's dodgy defence?

No, it's just a precaution, he's staying to train with the team but won't play.

Yea you're right there Eanna. Suddenly everything was alright again. Im not sure that knee injuries heal so quickly. I just hope that Carr can sort the problem because he has a lot of international experience, and at his best, he is a top right-full. I prefer him in that position than Finnan.

He just came over to train with the squad, never intented to play but its good that Souness allows him to travel when many managers wouldn't allow them.

Espically considering Souness has a 'team building' excersie abroad for those not playing in the Internationals. With that in mind, I don't blame Carr for traveling to Dublin just to train instead...

It also seems to rubbish any suggestion Carr & Kerr don't see eye to eye.

does anyone know why Keane didnt do the same as Carr and train with the team. Is it that he needs a few days off between games?????

surely it would have benefitted the whole squad to have him there.

I was reading an interview with Kenny Cunningham earlier, and he was going on about how long it had been since the squad had been together and how it would do them good just to get used to each other again. But of course Roy's so great he can just swan in whenever he wants :rolleyes:

I don't see why Carr should be ahead of Finnan when they are both fit. Finnan also has international experience (he was one of Ireland's best players at the World Cup) and has played more good games for Ireland in the last three years than Carr has. Carr has been living off his reputation lately.
