It's only useful if the information is correct. A quick glance at it reveals that it is way out of date on Stephen Kenny's contract. The site says he is contracted to 2016 while he signed a new contract last March that takes him to end of 2018 season

Is it just me or is the off season flying along. Season ended 4 weeks ago this weekend. Normally the off season drags. Could be the Dundalk in EL factor, good news stories and the League due to commence that little bit sooner. As I said, maybe it's just me....

It is flying by to be fair. For me it's probably down to it being crazy season in work. But definitely helping that we have that little bit less time to wait.

I agree... think it's a general positive vibe. Normal end of season optimism is enhanced.

Must be one of the longest off-seasons around!

More than a day since he pointed it out. It was probably changed in the meantime.

Pat Cregg signed for St Pats.

Very surprised Rovers let Cregg go. His football brain is far superior to Lopes. Lopes has the physicality and aggression and the engine to go all day, but he was always very mediocre on the ball.

That is the case alright. The original piece definitely said 2016 and gave this link from April 2015

Would it be fair to speculate that the author is probably a foot.ie subscriber?

Town have signed Gavin Boyne from Shels and Aidan Friel from Wexford. Re-signed five from last year too including Davy O'Sullivan. Good news, though I don't know a lot about Boyne or Friel.

Fantastic signing for harps. Bit surprised though I was convinced he'd be going to limerick. If he can stay injury free then I'm sure he can show his true potential

Thought he was on his way to us also. He was talking with us and it's a handy trip up the road.

A full time mad ba$tard.

Ollie Horgan had called for Harps to go full time but budget doesn't allow for it. Don't think there'll be many (if any) full time players at Harps this year.

Not really a transfer, but Paul Hegarty agrees to stay on as Harps assistant for next season.
He was only initially meant to be there until the end of the season just finished.

He can absolutely run a muck in the 1st div. Saw him at shels a few times absolutely tearing teams apart. Excellent touch and dribbling. Don't expect him to do anything off the ball tho.

Danny Morrissey and Ethan Boyle both on full time contracts at Harps. Ollie Horgan hopes to add "at least two more" full time players.

They will train with the squad three times a week and do their own gym work in between.

Absolutely not a pop at Harps, as most clubs struggle with this stuff, but that is a very strange definition of "full time". In practice, doesn't that basically mean they do exactly the same as other players, but get paid a bit more so they don't need another job? Wouldn't that just pi55 off other teammates?

Ollie using some of the money he gets for motivational speaking I'd imagine.

Nowhere. Extra money isn't there. It's a massive gamble from the club to increase any budget. From the best of my understanding though, it's not being increased by an awful lot at all.

Well, a lot of the players actually prefer to keep their day jobs. Some of them are in very good jobs too.

Those on full-time contracts won't be getting a huge amount extra anyway, simply because we cannot afford big wages. They'll obviously be given set gym times and work to do as well. Not exactly up to their own discretion whether they go or what they do. Harps fitness coach Michael Black has his own gym, Optimal Fitness in Letterkenny, so presumably he'll be keeping an eye on them.

It also means that we won't be going into midweek games potentially missing certain key players due to work commitments like we did last year.

Bray appear to be putting a decent enough squad together for 2017, and by all accounts they are not finished yet in the market. They might have a good chance of really pushing on next season.

It will be interesting to see if they can hold on to Connolly, suppose it will depend on the price, but no way will Dundalk be forking out the mad figures mentioned last week. The fee Dlk have agreed with Pats for Sean Hoare is 12-15k, very reasonable but he was not under contract.

I was surprised to see Rovers let go of Rob Cornwall - he signed for Bohs last week. Whenever I saw Cornwall I always thought he was their best CB after Webster.

Any idea why he was let go, Rovers fans? Did i just happen to see him when he had a rare good game?
