City confident of UEFA Licence

KILKENNY CITY are confident that they will be awarded a UEFA Licence.
All 22 clubs in the Eircom League Premier and First Divisions failed the licence test.
But clubs have the right of appeal and it is expected that all will avail of that option.
Kilkenny City were among the first to appeal.
According to club general manager Jim Rhatigan, extra information had been sent to the Licensing Appeal Board. He is happy that City will get the licence which will enable them to play Eircom League football at Buckley Park next season.
The Cats have also announced a number of friendlies, which they have lined
up before the March 20 kick-off.
These include away games against Longford Town and UCD.
The first home friendly is against Shamrock Rovers at Buckley Park on Saturday, March 5.
Manager Pat Scully is planning to bring his squad to the city for a weekend of training to coincide with the Rovers clash.
