This is the second match in a row Pires hasn't made the French squad, the last squad he made was against us. He's doing well this season, Domenech doesn't take much shít.

Robert Pires has failed to win back his place in the France squad after being left out of the 20-man party for next Wednesday's international friendly against Sweden at the Stade de France.

The Arsenal midfielder was initially omitted for the clash with Poland in November after criticising coach Raymond Domenech, who took over as Les Bleus boss following Euro 2004.

He has since apologised and Domenech insisted Pires was still very much in his thoughts for the World Cup qualifying programme.

But it seems Pires has been overlooked in favour of AC Milan's Vikash Dhorasoo, who returns to the squad after seeing more playing time with the Rossoneri.

Another Serie A star, David Trezeguet of Juventus, is also back after overcoming a shoulder injury.

Squad: Fabien Barthez (Marseille), Gregory Coupet (Lyon); Eric Abidal (Lyon), Patrice Evra (Monaco), William Gallas (Chelsea), Gael Givet (Monaco), Sebastien Squillaci (Monaco), Jonathan Zebina (Juventus); Olivier Dacourt (Roma), Vikash Dhorasoo (AC Milan), Rio Antonio Mavuba (Bordeaux), Camel Meriem (Bordeaux), Benoit Pedretti (Marseille), Patrick Vieira (Arsenal); Ludovic Giuly (Barcelona), Thierry Henry (Arsenal), Peguy Luyindula (Marseille), Florent Malouda (Lyon), Louis Saha (Manchester United), David Trezeguet (Juventus).

I've heard the term "donkey" used to describe footballers before but it looks like France have a Camel in midfield.
