2-0 victory over Cyprus today to wrap up their elite group - both goals from Brighton's Aaron Connolly, bringing his total to a very impressive seven in six qualifiers - looks like he could be one to watch in the next few years. He hasn't exactly been prolific for Brighton's U-18s, with three goals in fifteen appearances, but has played two games for their U-23s over the last couple of months and has scored three times.

Slightly Off Topic - but I see that the Faroe Islands beat Slovakia 2-1, and as runners up they have also qualified. Must be a first for them ( 7 of the 8 runners up qualify, and they have a better h2h record against the top 3 teams in their group than Portugal who only drew with 3rd placed Poland in group 3 ) .

Id probably leave one of the keepers out and stick 2 more outfield players in just for the first game anyway!!

Agreed. I know they're doing amazing things in Iceland right now but I think, for the time being, we need to be putting out 11 players for Irish teams with only one goalkeeper.

I've heard that Ledwidge is on his way to Southampton, Idah is apparently signed up with Norwich for next season and Tyreik Wright is currently in the process of choosing a team across the water and is in high demand (as Idah was)

We’ve had two pull out from the original squad. Glen McAuley from Liverpool has withdrawn for his own personal reasons and Conor Coventry from West Ham United has a broken toe, so that will force him out of the campaign.
A bit more on that here - http://www.independent.ie/sport/soccer/international-soccer/setback-for-u17-hopes-as-mcauley-pulls-out-35668484.html

He has already played competitively (http://www.uefa.com/under17/season=2016/teams/player=250089902/index.html) for Ireland (in the qualifiers for this tournament), so he can't become eligible in the future for England.

8: Change of association
1.
If a player has more than one nationality, or if a player acquires a new nationality, or if a player is eligible to play for several representative teams due to nationality, he may, only once, request to change the association for which he is eligible to play international matches to the association of another country of which he holds nationality, subject to the following conditions:
a) He has not played a match (either in full or in part) in an official competition at “A” international level for his current association, and at the time of his first full or partial appearance in an international match in an official competition for his current association, he already had the nationality of the representative team for which he wishes to play.
...
Has he got northern connections?

UEFA are experimenting with a new 'ABBA' penalty system for this tournament, along with the women's version, assuming the need arises obviously. The order in which the kicks will be taken will be very similar to a tie break in tennis.
Although it only mentions the new format being trailed in the women's competition on UEFA.com (http://www.uefa.com/under17/news/newsid=2463576.html), various other websites (http://www.espnfc.com/blog/uefa/258/post/3118000/uefa-set-to-experiment-with-new-abba-penalty-shootout-system) indicate it will be in place for the men's also.
The trial system will work as follows:
• 1st kick: Team A – 2nd kick: Team B
• 3rd kick: Team B – 4th kick: Team A
• 5th kick: Team A – 6th kick: Team B
• 7th kick: Team B – 8th kick: Team A
• 9th kick: Team A – 10th kick: Team B
In the case of equality
• 11th kick: Team B – 12th kick: Team A
If still equal
• 13th kick: Team A – 14th kick: Team B
and so on …

They haven't scored yet on my Mobdro app!
Edit- they have now. Very good header in fairness after Connolly let him go. We were looking very comfortable and the more likely too from what I had seen.
Gave away an indirect free kick for picking up a back pass in the build up to the corner (from which the goal was scored) so a bit of a shambolic series of events.

Finished 2-1
Germany 6pts +7 (+1max if 3 teams finish on 6)
Serbia 3pts -1 (-1def if 3 teams finish on 6, 0max if 3 teams finish on 3)
Ireland 3pts 0 (0min if 3 teams finish on 6, 0def if 3 teams finish on 3)
Bosnia 0pts -6 (0min if 3 teams finish on 3)
If we beat Germany we go through by my calculations. Or Bosnia 1-0 regardless of our result against Germany.
Serbia win means we have to beat Germany(win by 2 puts us top)
Serbia draw means we have to beat Germany and will finish top.
Serbia 1-0 loss qualifies us on H2H v Bosnia, 2-1, 3-2, 4-3 or a loss by more than 1 goal, would mean we need a least a point against Germany Complicated)
Germany aren't mathematically qualified either so won't be playing 2nd string I imagine.

If two or more teams in the same group are equal on points on completion of the
group matches, the following criteria are applied, in the order given, to determine
the rankings:
a. higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the
teams in question;

II – Competition System
b. superior goal difference from the group matches played among the teams in
question;
c. higher number of goals scored in the group matches played among the teams
in question;
d. if, after having applied criteria a) to c), teams still have an equal ranking,
criteria a) to c) are reapplied exclusively to the group matches between the
teams in question to determine their final rankings. If this procedure does not
lead to a decision, criteria e) to i) apply;
e. superior goal difference in all group matches;
f. higher number of goals scored in all group matches;
g. lower disciplinary points total based only on yellow and red cards received in
all group matches (red card = 3 points, yellow card = 1 point, expulsion for
