The daft home/away imbalance means the difference doesn't stand out as much as I thought it would, but still, every little counts I guess.
Dundalk have lost three away games in the league and just one home game. I'm sure they'll be happy enough to have a run of home games to try take the title.

When everything is added up at the end - could it be the difference?

I meant it means the different right now doesn't stand out as much.
If each team had to play, say, 16 home and away games, Dundalk would have 6 home games and 2 aways left, while Cork would have 3 home games and 5 away games. That's a big difference.
Adding an extra away game to Dundalk and an extra home game to Cork closes that gap slightly.

Dundalk have 6 home and 3 away although I'm not sure their home form is any better than their away form anyway
Here ya go -
Home - 25 Points from 10 matches = 2.5 average
Away - 33 Points from 14 matches = 2.36 average

A sign of the times is that you can get over 10/1 on Rovers tonight
I remember reading a study that if you backed every team that had odds of 7/2 or greater to win an away match in the EPL (based on actual results over a 4 or 5 year period) you would be a net winner due to the odd 8 or 9 to one winner (UTD lose at home etc).
Wonder how a similar study on our league would work ?? Longford win at Harps the other night must have been longish odds....

Negligible surely. Dundalk's away form is incredible.

Ah I know I was just speculating that the extra home game might be the difference come the end.

I also don't get this 'it's Cork's title to lose' to be in that position you would need to ahead on points for starters then probably have a game less played with only a few remaining.
Cork have been impressive with the last two wins, last night could have been tricky but reducing Dundalk's lead from 10 to 4 points took a bit of bottle.
Similarly these are an important two games for Dundalk starting tonight v Rovers. Cork are definitely keeping the pressure on and that's a good thing.
Nah Nah Nah Nah

I haven't really seen anyone apart from a couple of Dundalk fans saying it's Corks to lose. The bookies odds says it all.

Good match and good point last night.
Murphy saved us at the end good to see him get a chance.
I'd love to see the stats on last nights game. Quite one sided and Dundalk not being clinical around goal did make Rovers look good. That and the goal gifted to Shaw. The ref was awful altogether. The amount of fouls that he let go. Have Specsavers stopped sponsoring the refs and therefore they are not getting free contacts any more? How Rovers didn't have 3 or 4 players booked for time wasting is unbelievable.
Disappointing result but still a very good game especially in the second half. Murphy saved Rovers twice near the end with one very good save and another unbelievable one, they battled well for the point but it's definitely two dropped for us.
I think Webster lost the run of himself a little with the man of the match award, watching back when I got home, I'm almost sure he said 'it felt like two points dropped' Rovers didn't have a single goal scoring chance in the second half.
Tough game in the end,we didn't take our chances, and there will be more twists and turns in the run in for both Dundalk and Cork that's for sure. We have another very tough match on Friday at home to Derry.

Decent draw last night for Rovers against the 2nd best team in the league.
Dundalk dont like it up em it would seem! Other clubs should take note of their need to have so much time on the ball
The pitch is an embarrassment of a surface, and appears to impede Dundalk's passing movement.
In all honesty its a credit to dundalk that they can maintain a title challenge playing half their games on whats amounts to a levelled rubbish tip

Won't be an issue for them next season by the looks of it.

Ah yes. Funny how normal people don't like getting into brawls!

Somehow CD placid casual may like to give the impression of fishing or on a wind up but Dundalk's current successes burns and stick in his craw which is the best of back-handed compliments! :p
