Hiya guys and gals- The crowd that bring me to work have a 29 seater available that day and are willing to go to Portadown -They don't know its for a football match yet

If the 29 seats are takin up it'll be a tight squeeze on it but would work out at 15 a head
If we get 20 which will be more comfortable , it'll cost 21 yoyos a head

That will be leaving Dublin City centre at 4pm and goin straight to Portadown, and return to Dublin from Portadown at 11/12 that nite - (bad news is its a non smoking non drinking bus tho)

Whatcha reckon ?????

I haven't heard anything organised yet, exiles are predominantly Dublin based though so It's not like we're trying to be awkward ;) :D :D

btw pat, eanna was talking about driving, the option of leaving the car in the Pale might appeal

Thats what I was thinking of. If a few people are driving, a drive to Dublin and back is probably far more appealing than driving the whole way and back.

Some legend - haven't heard anything about tickets yet - presumably the club will get an allocation which will be more than enough to cover the relatively small number who will be able to travel given game is on a Monday.
Hope to see ye there.

But wouldn't you be well out of Dublin if you were going from the airport? You would be straight on to the motorway, so you would be moving fairly quickly......

IMO you'd have a chance although would be tight, then again I have reputation for "cutting to tight".

If you were starting in dub city centre then of course no chance whatsoever. However the airport is next to M1 which is motorway (traffic have little effect) all the way to Dundalk which i think can be made in 1 hour fine. I think Portadown 85mls from Dublin so probably 35 or so from dundalk.

Would mean 5.30 airport, 6.30 dundalk, 7.15-7.30 portadown. This doesn't really leave any contingency to find your way in Portadown + we got stuck in Dundalk traffic at 5.30 before for 30-45mins (was very nasty).

Thats my opinion for what its worth

Won't really hit rush hour traffic if he's at the airport tho !!
motorway the whole way to Dundalk - only takes a Hour these days

Maybe if you arent navigating :D

I still dont believe it is necessary to Pass the Arc de Triumph three time on the way from Nantes to Beauvais Airport.

Seriously though I would give it a bash, as long as Dundalk doesnt hold you up to much you should be there by KO. I made it up to a place about eight miles from there a few weeks ago in an hour and fifty from Finglas at about half four. Having said that traffic is different every day so if Dundalk is bad could be a waste of a flight.
