Correct.

Davy also transferred from Pike, during the close season, but has subsequently departed again.

Jaysus when do you stop on slagging off managers and their selections. You have never been in their position and never will be but yet you see fit to attack them at every oppurtunity.Mike Aherne has done more in Junior Football than you could ever dream of and good luck to him he deserves it and is highly regarded and respected in Limerick by people that KNOW what his achievements are.Something you will never do.Your poisoned pen only gets you so far and will all come crumbling down all through your own fault.

Shane Tracey, Lee Jay Lynch and Shane Duggan will be the only local lads playing regular premier for us. Paudie if he signs. Gary Shanahan then with Galway.

Pretty much, yeah.

O'Neill and Thomas Clarke both unavailable for 'Boro. Only Kevin Barry on the injured list.

Wayne O'Donovan injured for Pike. Boyle unavailable.

Bringing in the pitch didn't help either team, space was at a premium because of it, and as a result made the game scrappy and stop start, the weather conditions didn't help either. First goal in these games tends to win it.

Poor game!!!! Great result for the boro hard to understand why in January the pike was brought in and doubled lines all over the pitch

Fairview 2-1 Regional (AET)

Thought this was a pretty good game of football considering the conditions and both teams seemed to be missing a few. Daragh Rainsfords goal was a great finish to a move deserving to win any game. Regionals goal was a great half volley that put them ahead. I can see Regional taking Carrick in the nex fai game.
Fairview are seeming to gather some momentum and are playing well. Great to see jefferey judge back too in the league.

for a team on the slide Pike still have 3 trophies to fight for. There's a lot of clubs wouldn't mind being in that position.

Agree entirely TG,Pike must surely be one of the favourites for the MJC ,however don,t remember anyone on here suggesting they were on the slide, they are also well positioned in the league.

I thought that comment came out of nowhere, myself.

Easiest route to the semi-finals, on paper, of the remaining MJC teams, as I pointed out in last week's column.

AOB looking at some of pikes results this year there is no easy route for them.

Pike will be fine, they always are. FAI this weekend, and 3 games in the league.

I'm going to go with

Carew 1-3 Fairview
Moyross 2-2 Aisling
Pike 5-0 Geraldines

Maybe Pike will win 6-0 now that they've gotten rid of that pesky John Boyle. Never wanted him anyway I'd say.

I might be wrong but in that 2012 fixture of Pike V Clonmel, they had played each other the previous week in the Munster Junior, Celtic winning 1-0. Maybe that's why Pike changed their system, having seen Celtic a week earlier. But I get your point re. Balla last Sunday, didn't see the game but looked an unfamiliar system to their norm.

Whats the story here then?according to your piece the champions previous manager is back running the show,so what is /was the present/previous occupent doing?...bloody confusing setup by the looks of it..good result for them last week, does,n erase the embarassment of the thrashing in the green earlier this season though ..that will linger for years a beating like that.

That is why they changed their system, yes. And I mentioned that MJC game in the piece. Doesn't mean the response to that result (i.e. a back three, out of the clear blue sky) made sense. It didn't. At all. And Pike paid the penalty on the day for that foolishness

Carew Park probably going to beat Aisling Annacotty to make it into the last 8 of the Munster junior cup, can still finish strongly in the league, still in the Lawson and only beaten by most people's favourites in the FAI. Hardly a reason to question what the manager has been doing. He's been doing ok by anyone's standards. Regardless of what AOB's personal feelings are towards the man, that's not a terrible season or deserving of this ridiculous witch hunt.

Another confusing post from you there, TG. One wonders what exactly you think you're replying to at the best of times.

My respect for the achievements of the man pulling the strings at Carew Park has long been a matter of public of record. Far from questioning him, my column actually lauds what he's managed to achieve since returning to the dressing-room a short time ago. Read it again, sure.

As for your review of Carew's season-to-date, you weren't temporarily hacked by this man, were you?

That thought certainly occurred to me at the final whistle today, Fairkop.

The number of near-misses against lower league opposition that led them to this stage of the competition, and to that Sheriff game in the FAI Junior Cup, was absolutely staggering.

That kind of luck does indeed tend to run out.

Can't see there being as much managerial change over the summer as there has been in the last season or two. We all know well who's calling the shots in Carew Park and that being the case, the blame is hardly Mike Aherne's alone. Buck stops with the manager tho.
